Day 97: Happy Solstice!
Jun. 20th, 2020 10:08 pmToday is the summer solstice (in this hemisphere, it's winter down below) and the longest day and shortest night of the year. Yay! Summer is here!
I didn't do much today, I slept late, and I really slept too, no dozing in the morning, I slept solidly til about 11:00. Then I got up, had breakfast and coffee, and puttered around for awhile. I tidied the living room for Oldest Brother's visit tomorrow.
I ordered two books, one through Amazon, and one through ebay, that i used to have copies of, and lost. Peacock Pie, which is poems by Walter de la Mare, through Amazon, and The fairy caravan by Beatrix potter, from ebay. They were not cheap, but not unreasonably expensive either. I will be glad to have them again.
The Kid called, and we discussed some things. Then I Skyped the FWiB and we had a nice talk.
After that I did the dishes, which hadn't been done in awhile, and tidied the kitchen a little.
Read for awhile, still working on the third InCryptid book, and then put the clean dishes away. then I made myself a rum and coke.
Came out for the Thurber reading, which was fun as always. He did a longer essay and a whole bunch of fables, so that was nice.
called Oldest Brother and we made plans for getting together tomorrow. Fed the pets, and called the Kid again. Didn't get her, but left a message. Seems Oldest Brother was wrong when he said Aunt Helen was out of the hospital, she's still there, but should be out on Tuesday. They need to bring her sodium levels up slowly.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Aunt Helen should be OK.
3. Fun books.
4. Clean dishes.
5. Ripe bananas.
6. Family.
