Back at work again
Jun. 29th, 2020 10:57 pmMy alarm didn't go off this morning, but I was up at 6:30 anyway. I took my temperature, then showered and dressed, and was just sitting down to fill out the daily health form when I got a message on my phone.
It was
mashfanficchick asking me if I wanted coffee from Starbucks, which i did. Long story as to how they happened to be at Starbucks near me, but they were going to Uncle bills Diner, and since they were here and knew it was my first day back, I got not only coffee but a ride to work too! Ze and I sat outside the library and talked while we waited for my boss.
The rest of the day was cold (the air conditioning at work is over enthusiastic) and boring. I thought we were going to be doing holds, but we aren't. I literally did nothing but a few brief trainings, and read various things on the library web page for the whole day.
After work I took the bus home and discovered that, though I could find nothing on the MTA's webpage to say it, they are still not charging fares. I knew that back at the beginning of the Covid mess they stopped charging bus fare because they needed to keep passengers away from the drivers (to many drivers got sick) but I thought that with the reopening of the city they might have gone back. But apparently not.
So I came home and found that my copy of Peacock Pie had been delivered, so I have that and am very pleased. Then I Skyped the FWiB, and we talked for about an hour.
The Thurber reading was cancelled again today, so I went to make dinner. I ended up talking to the Kid for a VERY long time, which was nice.
Oldest Brother called and after i got off with the Kid I called him back. Nothing new.
And now to bed. Still no crossposting as of yesterday.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Good friends.
3. The AC at work is working, even though it's too cold.
4. Free bus.
5. The Kid.
6. Bed soon.
