Saw the Kid today!

Started out early, got up at 8:30 and got coffee and showered and dressed. Then took my tax stuff to College Point to the preparer, stopping first at the bagel Place for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll. The preparer was nice enough to do me immediately so I could just wait in the park. I am happy to say I got a very nice refund.

While I was in College Point there was some Trumpista in a pickup truck with two big flags flying in the back, an American flag, and a "Trump 2020" flag. He was apparently just driving in circles, I saw him three times. I suppressed the urge to flip him the finger because who knows how he'd react?

Anyway, came home and Skyped the FWiB. We had a nice talk. Called the Kid too. She was going out to find a Good Will box to donate five bags of stuff. mashfanficchick and zir mother took her. After they got done with that she called me and I started over to her place.

We had a nice time. I paid for sushi for us for dinner, she paid for the makings of lychee mimosas. Tasty. And nothing says "first time seeing your daughter in months" like raw fish on rice.

At 9:30 I called Oldest Brother and the three of us talked. Then after that I headed home gain. I had two bags of stuff she gave me, so it was difficult traveling, but I made it. There were apparently thunder storms but I missed them.

Fed the pets when I got in, now going to go to bed and read for awhile.

This story reminds me of the week after 9/11. There were bomb threats at the local mosque, and several of us UU people went over there to stand in the parking lot and make sure nothing happened. Someone drove past 5 times with a huge american flag off their window. Clearly a threat, but maybe thwarted by us?
