The Cat Creature
Oct. 11th, 2020 10:08 pmNo, not Oreo.
I got up at a reasonable time, and breakfasted and coffeed. Put a few more pictures on my digital picture frame. Puttered on the computer til the FWiB was ready to Skype, then we Skyped.
After that I gritted my teeth and cleaned the turtle filter and plugged it back in. The annoying noise it was making has stopped, and the water is getting cleaner. I may do more tomorrow, either clean the filter again, or change the water.
Then I watched The Cat Creature, a 1973 made-for-TV movie that I saw when I was 11 and it scared me to death. It's in it's entirety on youtube. It turns out that the screenplay was written by Robert Bloch! It didn't scare me now of course, but I could see where an updated remake with good special effects and production values could be pretty scary.
I e-mailed Frank C, and I texted
mashfanficchick just to say hello. No answer from either yet.
And I got out and put up some of my Halloween decorations.
Anyway, after that, I went to the bedroom and played solitaire, and dozed for a bit. Got up for dinner, then puttered on the computer awhile before going to the bedroom to wait to call Oldest Brother.
The Kid called me, turns out she didn't go to Boston this weekend after all. We talked a bit, and then I called Oldest Brother and talked to him. Both of them are OK.
And that's been my day.
Last night on the spur of the moment I ordered a copy of The Riddle of the Wren by Charles de Lint, another book I used to have that I no longer do. Can't wait til it gets here.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Youtube had The Cat Creature.
3. Old friends.
4. Halloween.
5. The Kid called.
6. Getting old books back.
