silver_chipmunkFinally I was contacted by a doctor about Oldest Brother, and here's what's going on.
The bubble test was inconclusive, so they want to do a more invasive test called a transesophageal echocardiogram. That involves anesthesia, and then putting a probe down the throat, so there's a clearer picture. The doctor asked him if he wanted to go with that, and he seemed to agree and understand, so I agreed too. It will mean he has to be transferred to another hospital as they don't do that test where he is. Also, the weakness on his right side is worse than I had understood. He can't really write, the doctor is going to try and get him an iPad or something similar that he can use to tap out words with. And the high white blood count continues, so they are looking into that, including with the oncologist. So no real good news, but nothing outstandingly worse.
In other news, I decorated my tree today. I had the tree up, undecorated, if you recall, because Oldest Brother and I were supposed to decorate it last Sunday, except he had the stroke Saturday night. Well I considered if it was worth it too decorate it, but I decided yes. Because I deserve a little cheer. because Middle brother is going to be staying here Christmas Eve night, and I want him to have a tree. Because I'm not going to let this thing destroy my life. So there. Anyway, I got everything up, and the garland over the door, and the rest of the decorations. It looks very nice if I do say so myself.
Aside from that, I Skyped the FWiB, all well there. And I called the kid, doing OK. And John and Denise, who are going crazy with taking care of Aunt Helen who isn't doing to well herself. I calledmashfanficchick, who was reassuring, and i called John Ivon, but it went straight to voice mail.
I'm beating myself up because I forgot to call Middle Brother, who is probably very upset, but it's too late now to call tonight. So I'll call tomorrow.
