Oh my God, this day

What can I say about sedition and treason and everything that happened in Washington DC today?

I am horrified and saddened and it was terrifying hearing about it.

At the same time there were some good things that happened today. The Georgia Senate election wins, mean we flipped the Senate.

And on a personal level, I spoke to the Insurance/Medicaid person in the hospital, and she straightened things out with the billing for Oldest Brother. So that's good.

I came home and Skyped the FWiB, and that was good.

And now I've just had a rum and (diet) Coke, and that was good.

The Kid called me to keep me updated on the situation, and I called her a few times too. Called Oldest Brother and he had seen the news, so I didn't have to explain what happened.

I await with bated breath the events of the next few days.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Oldest Brother saw and apparently understood the news.

3. The Kid.

4. The Congress continues the certification count.

5. The attackers were removed.

6. The Georgia win.

Glad Medicaid got sorted out. I think these next few days will be really anxious for everyone.

Good on you. I had a nice stiff gin drink myself. Yesterday was awful--but people in power surprised me last night in stepping up to the plate. We still have an incredible mess to clean up, but in going too far, these insurrectionists may just have begun the process of healing.
