Mammogram

Got up and had breakfast and coffee, and showered and did not put on deodorant, because you do do not wear it when you have a mammogram. And then I headed over.

I got there really early, so I went to the Barnes and Noble first and bought The Invisible Library, which I know I have heard of, but I can't remember where. But so far it's pretty good.

Anyway, the mammogram was uncomfortable but not too bad. Afterward I went to Bagel Boss for my usual lunch of a toasted garlic bagel with lox and cream cheese, broccoli salad, and a pickle, with peach iced tea. Then I walked back to the bus and realized I hadn't called Oldest Brother so I did that.

Came home and called him again, and then puttered online till the FWiB was available to Skype. So we Skyped, and that was good. I put in a Shipt order and it was delivered while we were talking.

After that I watched an episode of The Expanse. Then I had dinner, and went and read The Invisible Library and called Oldest Brother again. I called the Kid but she didn't answer so I watched a youtube video about Lovecraft's view of the universe.

Then I fed the pets and started this, and she called back so we're talking about The Expanse.

I didn't know that about mammograms. Is there a reason why you shouldn't wear deodorant?

Yeah, there's something metallic (I think aluminum something but I'm not sure) in deodorants that blocks the X-rays of the scan. So no deodorant, powder, lotion or perfume when you have a mammogram.

Of course I wore my heavy coat so I ended up sweating profusely.

Ugh, that always sucks. Mammograms in general are awkward.
