I got up at 8:00, showered and dressed, no breakfast or coffee of course because they said not to eat or drink for 4 hours before the MRI. RK came after he got out of work and picked me up a little after 9:00.
We went to Dunkin' Donuts where I got him something to eat, and chai. Then we went to the medical place.
Got there by somewhat after 9:30, and even though my appointment wasn't until 10:30 we went inside and I signed in. They had a lot of paperwork and then they sent me downstairs. And I waited till they called me in.
They had trouble getting a catheter in my hand and the technician had to call in the doctor to do it on the other hand. A minor point.
The MRI was possibly the most uncomfortable thing I've ever done and I include giving birth in that. Not painful, though it was a bit painful, but not very. But I had to lie on my stomach with my breasts through a hole and my face down. and I couldn't breath well, and of course no moving and it was awful. It was about 20 minutes to half an hour I think though I don't know for sure.
After the MRI was over, RK and I ate at the diner that's near there. It's near Flushing Hospital, where, prepandemic, is where I had my therapy and psychiatrist visits. The diner was pretty good, I had a ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich.
Then RK brought me home, and I called Oldest Brother and the Kid. Then I dozed for awhile before getting on the computer. Eventually I Skyped the FWiB, and we talked for about two hours, which is the longest we've talked for a long time.
Then I had my Al-anon meeting, and that was small but good. And then I tried to call Oldest Brother again but couldn't get through. I had dinner and called again, and finally did get through. He says that the phone there is dying and that he'll ask them to get him a new one. I hope that they do. Then I called the Kid but she didn't pick up. Then I read till it was time to feed the pets.
Anyway, that was the day.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. RK.
3. Oldest Brother.
4. Modern medicine.
5. Good books.
6. Friends.
