Election Day and Chemo

I overslept again and had to rush to get voting in before [personal profile] mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up, but I made it. Got my "I Voted" sticker and wore it all day on my coat.

They picked me up and I got to chemo. It went well except that my right leg did get a little restless. Not bad though. I am starting to enjoy watching Dr Phil, which is slightly disturbing. ;-)

After chemo we went to late lunch/early dinner at Chilies. That was good. Then we went and picked up Dori and drove her to her polling place. We dropped her off and they drove me home so I could make my Al-anon meeting.

The meeting went very well, and then I Skyped the FWiB for awhile. That was nice.

Not eating anything now because of the big meal at Chilies. Maybe I'll have a late night snack, who knows.

Called Oldest Brother three times as usual, he got a phone call from John Ivon. So that's good.

Then I called the Kid and we had a good conversation. She texted too, while I was having chemo. She sent me an article about the QAnon Trumpers waiting in Dallas for either JFK or JFK Jr to come back from the dead and proclaim Trump the King of Kings or something. Freaks. I read it out loud to [personal profile] mashfanficchick and zer mother and we had a good laugh.

Anyway, now I'm texting with Cousin Laurie, and all is well. The pets have been fed and I must get to bed though I don't know if I'll be able to sleep.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Family.

3. My meetings and the people there.

4. My chemo went well.

5. Curtis Sliwa did not win as NYC Mayor.

6. Got the download for the new Garth Nix book I preordered for my Nook, and it was actually waiting to download!

Dr. Phil, huh? I watch every day while I peddle my exercise bike and after four years of watching him I still don't have the words to describe my relationship with the show. Much of the time I'm so enraged I can peddle with furious energy and that's good for my health. He is self-congratulatory and that bothers me almost as much as the problems being presented. I also know that even though he has great personal wealth, the services provided to his guests are paid for by the organizations he's sending them to (Turnabout Ranch, etc.). And it bugs me when his solution is Dr On Demand or one of the many books he himself has written. I often wish I had someone to discuss the shows with though, so perhaps I should encourage you to keep watching?

I don't pay attention to NY politics and didn't realize Curtis Sliwa was running. I know his name from the Guardian Angels but have no idea if he's still involved or if they still exist. Do they?

Glad to hear Chemo isn't being too awful (and that you were able to keep your appointment)!
