Zoo Trip!!

silver_chipmunkSo I spent last night at mashfanficchick's, and this morning got up nice and early for the zoo.
We got the cab at 9:00. We got to the zoo right on time, and first thing we spotted a lovely hanging nest over the Bronx River and what we think is a family or orioles in it. Some bright colored bird that makes a hanging nest at any rate.
Then we did the zoo. Of course it's impossible to see the whole thing in a day, and we didn't get to some of the things we planned, but we did a lot, including something I'd always wanted to do but never did before, the Asian monorail. That means among other things we got to see Happy the elephant who's been in the news lately.
We stayed until closing time. I bought a hat for a useful souvenir. We had some trouble with the cab back but eventually we got it fixed and got home around 7. Then we had Chinese food for dinner. I Skyped the FWiB briefly on zer iPad. And I called Oldest Brother three times as usual.
I took an Uber home, annd then called the Kid. Sje had a great time on her date.
All in all we had great day. Except the Mets are losing badly. Oh well.

1. The FWiB.

3. The pilot project that paid for the cab.
4. Finally got to take the monorail.
5. Everything was all right here while I was gone.
6. Bed now.
