Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

silver_chipmunkKept Oreo in my room last night to keep him from disturbing Middle Brother, Oreo was not happy, but settled down eventually.
This morning I got up at somewhat after 9, and was reminded by texts from the Kid of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. So I put it on the TV for Middle Brother, who was already up and dressed, and I watched it too. We had breakfast. and I showered and dressed, and when the parade was over I got an Uber and we went to the nursing home.
Oldest Brother was ready to go, so after the paperwork was taken care of, we went outside to wait for the wheelchair taxi. Which got there eventually, 22 minutes late but that was OK. We went to the restaurant, the Neptune Diner in Bayside, which had a Thanksgiving special dinner. We got seated, and the Kid got there just in time, so that was nice. Oldest Brother and I had the Thanksgiving special. Soup, salad, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potato in what form you wanted (we both got baked sweet potato), vegetable, and dessert (we got pumpkin pie) and coffee. Middle brother, by his choice, got a cheeseburger deluxe, and chocolate cake for dessert. The Kid got a salad. She and I both had two glasses each of Prosecco. We had a very nice time.
But at 3:30 there was no sign of the taxi to go back. Turns out somehow it got booked for yesterday, not today. I had to set up another booking to get us back to the nursing home and it took awhile. But the restaurant was nice about not kicking us out, so that was no problem.
So we took Oldest Brother back, and then Middle Brother and I started out to get him back. Walked to the bus, two buses to Jamaica, train to Hicksville, waited there for his people. After he got picked up I came back through Jamaica and took the bus home.
When I got here I called Oldest Brother, and then Skyped the FWiB. We had a very nice time.
Then I read online, and had a cup of coffee with one of the croissants that the Kid brought home from the coffee shop (she worked a half day today, and did very well indeed.)
After I finish here I shall give the turtle her shot, and then go to bed.
All-in-all a lovely Thanksgiving Day with my family. A few glitches but for the most part very smooth.
