Merry Christmas to all!
Dec. 25th, 2022 10:28 pmGot up this morning at 10, gave Middle Brother his stocking, and got us breakfast while I played Christmas music on the computer (Pandora). Took a shower and dressed, then at about 12:30 we took an Uber to the nursing home to get Oldest Brother.
Annoyingly enough, they did not have him ready. He was dressed but not in the wheelchair. And there was no record that he was supposed to be. We got that straightened out, and they got him in the chair and set to go, and we made it down to the lobby just as the taxi was arriving.
We got to the restaurant, the taxi dropped us at the front entrance but it turned out we needed to go to the back to get the wheelchair in. No biggie.
The place is just as fancy as I had hoped. We ate a lot, and it was very good. The Kid was an hour late of course, she said it was traffic. But she got there and we had a nice time.
Then we took the taxi back to the nursing home, and visited for a little while. Then I took Middle Brother out to Hicksville again. We walked to the bus stop, then took the 28 to the 44, and took that to Jamaica where we took the train.
The person from his group home got there just in time for me to make an express train back to Jamaica, and I took the 44 from there, getting home about 8:30.
I called Oldest Brother to let him know, and then Skyped the FWiB. We talked for a nice long time, then I called the Kid.
And for a Christmas miracle... I fed Christie and she is eating! A LOT! I am giving her more each time she finishes a large pinch. I am so pleased! I hope it continues!
I'm charging my Nook, going to go to bed soon and read more of Into the West, the new Mercedes Lackey book.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. My family.
3. Dim sum.
4. The turtle is eating!
5. My friends.
6. Having a week off.
