Watching the computer

Spent the whole day on the couch on the computer. Got up and had breakfast and coffee, then went to my Al-anon meeting by Zoom.

After that I Skyped the FWiB, until it was time for the Starsky and Hutch episode watch and chat. We watched the pilot episode. which is subtly different from the rest of the series.

Then after the chat ended I called Oldest Brother for the second time, and mashfanficchick, then I had something to eat. And then I called the Kid, who was just back from work. We talked a bit and she told me that she thought I'd like a show on Netflix called The Diplomat.

I watched the trailer. and it looked interesting so I watched two episodes. Pretty good, I think I'll keep on. I called the Kid back and told her, and I called Oldest Brother for the third time.

Then I had dinner, and fed the pets. Now I'm thinking I'll go to bed and read. Or play solitaire.

Pilot episodes are always interesting. I can think of several shows I'm into where it's slightly disorientating watching the pilot and you realise, "Wait, that changed later on!" Sometimes even whole the first series (as in season) of a show: Blackadder is totally different first time around from the three series that followed.

In the case of Starsky and Hutch, the changes are pretty subtle, but there... the two most obvious are that Hutch in the pilot says his ex-wife is named Nancy, but the series introduces her in an episode as Vanessa, and Captain Dobey is played by a different actor, and the character has a different first name (William in the pilot, Harold in the show). The other changes are more in mood and tone rather than fact.
