A day of many relatives
Aug. 13th, 2023 10:19 pmSlept later than usual, Lynn S texted me that he will be able to come to visit Wednesday, and stay the night. We are having home made pizza. Then I got up and had breakfast.
Linda came by and asked if I'd like her to pick me up a meal from the Olcott Methodist Church chicken barbeque. I thought about it, decided it would be OK to save it for tomorrow, and said yes. So she did, and I thanked her. It's a good size serving of chicken, baked beans, and macaroni salad, plus two cookies for dessert. Price has gone up, it was $13 which luckily I had in cash. So that's in the fridge for my dinner tomorrow.
Then I showered, washed my hair, and got dressed for dinner tonight. Then I killed time waiting by taking some walks, up to the pond and then continuing up to the head of the road. I also read,
I was puttering online when Janet and Thom drove up, and asked if I would like to come sit on their porch for awhile and visit. It was 3:30 at that point, and I was expecting the Es, Diane and Bob, to come between 4 and 4:30, so I said yes but that I didn't have a lot of time. Janet gave me paper and tape and I left a note on the door, but they texted and I texted back to tell them where I was.
So I had a nice visit with Janet and Thom, and Diane and Bob and their friend Betsy (not to be confused with cousin Betsy) came up and joined us for awhile. So that was very nice.
Then we went down to the beach for a bit, it was wavy but not too bad.
And then we went to dinner at Gordie Harper's. I had the chicken and biscuits, which was very good though not quite enough gravy. They paid for it, which was very nice.
We wandered through the bazaar and I got some fudge, and a book on Olcott and Newfane.
They drove me back, and had to be on their way.
The Kid texted me with pictures of Cody's wedding, and her and M. Very nice.
I called Oldest Brother, for the second time. Then I puttered until 8:30 when, with a little bit of trouble, I called Middle Brother. He didn't go to the comedy show on Thursday, which I think was a punishment, but I didn't ask questions. He did go to a car show yesterday, and Target, and ate lunch at Wendy's. So he was happy.
Then I Skyped the FWiB for awhile, not long, and it was pretty glitchy, but nice to talk to him. There is no news on his brother-in-law, so we're hoping no news is good news, and while there's life there's hope.
I called Oldest Brother for the third time, and read for a bit, texted
mashfanficchick, and then started here.
So all in all it was a pretty nice day. Good to see family, good to hear from Lynn S.
