SHarecon and home again

Woke up this morning at 8:30 and went down to breakfast. Then back to the room to shower and dress and pack, and go to the con. Vids, panels, and some raspberry vodka.

There was the Comatose Dog Panel, and Flamingo says there will be a virtual con next year, and, if she remains in good health, another physical con in two years as usual, so hooray!

The food came at a bit before 4, I just had time to eat a slice of pizza and two boneless wings and then get my stuff from the room and go downstairs to the desk and get the shuttle to the train station.

The train was on time. I got a seat and read the con zine for most of the way home. I called the hospital, Oldest Brother remains about the same.

mashfanficchick's mother picked me up, and brought me home. I got all my stuff in, and fed the pets, then Skyped the FWiB.

Now it's time for bed. Didn't get much sleep this weekend.

I will go to visit Oldest Brother tomorrow after work.

I don't think I've seen the term "Comatose Dog Panel" before! Mind you, as usual, my fandom is weird and our cons don't have any kind of Dog Panels, so this stuff is always slightly exotic to me. We don't even have Comatose Horse Panels. ;)

Many conventions have as the last activity of the can, a "Dead Dog" panel. It's for going over what went wrong at the con, and what was good, and how things can be improved, and ect. In SHarecon, we refer to the dog as the "Spotted Dog" as a reference to one episode in which a Dalmatian, referred to only as "spotted dog", mysteriously shows up and saves the guys from harm. And we like the dog to much to kill it, so instead of "dead dog" it's called the "Comatose Spotted Dog Panel". Convoluted, but fun.

Yeah, I remember when I was vaguely part of the furry fandom their cons had Dead Dog panels, though in those days I didn't attend conventions in person so I've never actually been to one. I do love the reasoning for the SHarecon name, though! :)
