Much to report

First, I was on time today. However, shortly after getting to work I learned that David Soul, Hutch on Starsky and Hutch, had died. This was a shock to say the least.

Martha, my roommate from SHarecon, Facebook messaged me, and I texted mashfanficchick The fandom is reeling. It was so unexpected.

At lunch I talked to my therapist. That was good. Then I called the hospital to find out about Oldest Brother's condition. They said they would have a doctor call me. Spoiler alert, no doctor called.

However I got a call from the hospital social worker, and it turns out that one of his doctors there wanted him to be transferred to one of his nurising homes. I was stunned, but since I have been wanting to get him out of the place he's in for months now, I said yes. She made calls.

The first I heard of the results was that the place that he's been in called me and tried to get me to change my mind. Then the social worker called me back, one of the three places didn't want to accept him, one did, and one was still reviewing paperwork. So that's where matters stand.

I hope and pray I made the right decision.

Anyway, after work I called mashfanficchick and told zer, ze was enthusiastic.

Tonight my meeting had a potluck dinner before the actual meeting, so i took the 5 bus to the Foodtown and bought a cheese and meet tray and crackers as my contribution.

It was really nice, the food was good, and it was fun. Then we had the meeting which was good.

Then I tried to get the 9:05 bus home. It never showed. Got the 9:35. It was cold standing there!

Skyped the FWiB. Very nice.

Waiting for the Kid to call me, she's out with her boyfriend tonight for his birthday, so she hasn't called yet.

Tip re nursing homes: make unexpected visits, that way you can see how he really is being taken care of. There's a couple horrible ones here in town that make everything look good before anyone comes to visit, and the families are confused because the residents are telling them how bad it is. NOT saying they are all bad, nor do I mean for you to question your decision, far from it: just a tip to make sure he's doing well.

Oh yeah, I never announce my visiting in advance, except once when I didn't want to visit him (though I did) but wanted to get answers.
