Damn insurance company

Got a phone call this morning, turns out the insurance company has not approved my CAT scans. This sucks.
I got to work on time (the bus showed up when it should have) and got half-and-half at the deli on the way. At 11, the children's librarian, L, and I went on a neighborhood walk to some of the schools in the area and dropped off flyers and talked to people. I hope it does some good in getting class visits.
During lunch I called the oncologist about the denial of the CAT scans. She will appeal it in a "peer-to-peer", whatever that is. But I had to call the imaging place and cancel my appointment, which sucks. I also called
mashfanficchick to tell zer we wouldn't be going Friday, and I called the Kid to tell her too. It was nice talking to them both.
I got an email from the person I have to send the info about the "lost" items from Oldest Brother's nursing home so I got her email address and sent the screen caps when I got home.
Before that though I did the Teen Lounge, which turned out quite well, 11 teens, they used the Switch and also played Jenga and Uno.
Anyway, then I came home, sent the screen caps and then Skyped the FWiB, who is once again not well, and says he'll FINALLY go to the doctor tomorrow, even if he "feels better". We didn't even fill in all the time before my Al-anon meeting, he felt so bad.
The meeting was quite good, though small.
After that I had my leftover Carvel sundae from last Wednesday for dinner, with some brie and crackers afterward. Then I settled in to read the new Ben Aaronovitch Rivers of London graphic novel which came today. I ordered two copies, one for me and one for Oldest Brother, I hope he can read it.
So that's what's happening, I don't know when I'll hear about the CAT scans, but I assume later rather than earlier. But we'll see. I hope Dr Kalra can convince then to change their mind. The American healthcare system sucks. It is so frustrating to have your doctor's decisions contradicted by paper-pushers.
That's about all there is.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. My meetings and the people there.
3. My cat.
4. The Ben Aaronovitch graphic novel.
5. Heard from the person at the old nursing home.
6. Ice cream.
