Vaccinations and 911

silver_chipmunkI got up around 11 and had breakfast and coffee. Then I killed time until around 12:30 when I went and showered and dressed.
I puttered for a bit, and then at 1:30ish I set out for Duane Reade to get prescriptions, and my vaccinations.
I got to Flushing with some time to kill before the 2:30 appointment so I walked to the train station (just down the block on the other side of the street) and bought my ticket to Great neck, wheremashfanficchick's father lives.
That killed enough time that I went to Duane Reade and got on line. I told them what I was there for and they had me sit and wait. It wasn't too long. Then the woman called me to get my prescriptions, and told me to wait again.
Finally they called me for the vaccinations, Covid and Flu in the left arm and Shingles in the right. The first two were fairly painless, the third one hurt a bit but not badly. I waited 15 minutes, then walked to the Flushing Library.
I went up to the second floor and wandered through non-fiction. where I saw a copy of Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology. I read that all the way through, it's a qiuck read, and was just putting it away whenmashfanficchick texted that ze was done with what ze had been doing and I could come at any time. So I headed to the train station to get the next train.
There was one in 10 minutes, so that worked out well. I got on, and it's a relatively short ride to Great Neck.
We met up and hung out til 8 when 911 is. We called in pizza, but it was very late being delivered so I didn't finish mine before the show started.
The show was a lot of fun. Short on reality, but very fun.
Afterward I finished my pizza and we had mango for dessert. Then I got an Uber home.
Got here, fed the pets, and Skyped the FWiB. He was very tired though so we didn't talk long.
And then I started here.
Oh, I should mention that I got a text from cousin Steve for me and the Kid, alas, we can not be invited to Thanksgiving this year, because they have something special going on. Oh well.
Anyway, that's all.
