Saw Oldest Brother
Nov. 8th, 2024 10:33 pmGot up latish, had breakfast and coffee, and took a shower and dressed, and went to see Oldest Brother.
He was in bed, but he was awake, so that's good. We had a very pleasant visit. I played the jean Shepard broadcast on Youtube that John sent, and he enjoyed it a great deal. Then we talked for awhile, or at least, I talked and he reacted.
I stayed about an hour and 15 minutes, and then came home.
I spent the next 45 minutes reading all the pages in my four Al-anon daily readers on anger, trying to find some good pages for my speaking tomorrow. I eventually picked two., and then it was time to go to my meeting tonight.
I wore my pink coat that I just had washed (more fuchsia than pink really) and was glad of the warmth. Went for pizza first, and then the meeting, which was good. K took me to the bus afterward.
Came home and Skyped the FWiB. Nice as always.
Last night in bed I gave in to a bout of retail therapy and, using my phone, ordered four of the five Silver John novels. They were not cheap, and I didn't get the last one because the cheapest copy I could find was $99 plus shipping. I will read the other four before I spend that. I have ordered books on my phone late night before but never so expensive or four at once.
Just called the Kid, no answer.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. EBay for books.
3. Thrift books.
4. My meetings and the people there.,
5. My jacket.
6. Oldest Brother.
