Some sad news

silver_chipmunkI'm spending the night at mashfanficchick's tonight. Zer mother died today, after having a cardiac arrest. Ze called me this morning to tell me that they thought it was the end, and that ze and zer uncle were on their way there.
I went to see Oldest Brother, that's some good news, he is aware and alert and responsive. We had a nice visit. Then I came hjome and textedmashfanficchick and ze told me that she was gone, and ze and RK were at zer father's in Great Neck. So I said I'd be there as fast as possible, and took the bus to Flushing and the train to Great Neck.
Ze and RK picked me up and we spent the day running errands connected with that and New Year's Eve, because we are going to continue with our plans, because nothing is happening tomorrow anyway.
So we decided that it made the most sense for me to stay over tonight and tomorrow night. They took me home and I fed the pets and packed stuff.
The burial service is Thursday and the memorial service is Friday, and then ze will sit Shiva for a few days. I'll be here a good chunk of the time.
