Reading day
I set an alarm for 10, then when it went off, hit the snooze and then finally turned it off and went to sleep again. Got up a bit before 12. I know what I'm doing, I'm trying to avoid reality. Tomorrow I gotta' get up and visit Oldest Brother in the hospital.
Anyway I finally got up and ate breakfast and had coffee. The Kid texted to find out how Oldest Brother was and I told her. She didn't respond.
After breakfast I went and started reading the Elizabeth Moon book. It has some distinct similarities to Bujold's The Warrior's Apprentice, the first Miles Vorkosigian book. I'm enjoying it.
I read for hours, til 6, then I called the hospital to check on Oldest Brother, they told me to call back in half an hour so I got on the computer and puttered til 6:30 when I called back and talked to the doctor. They changed his antibiotic because they cultured his bacteria and he had a resistant strain. But now he's doing better and they are once again trying to wean him off the ventilator.
At 7 I Skyped the FWiB, and we talked til it was time for my meeting. That was at 8:00.
The meeting was pretty good, but it's sadly obvious that M is declining rapidly (she has some kind of dementia, probably Alzheimer's).
After that I had dinner, and went and played solitaire on my phone til pet feeding time.
After this I shall go read and hopefully finish the Elizabeth Moon. Last night I downloaded the new Jonathan Kellerman Alex Delaware novel, and I'll start that after I finish.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. My meetings and the people there.
3. Fudgesicles.
4. Good books.
5. Reading day.
6. Oldest Brother doing OK.

How are the Kellerman books these days? Aren't the Alex Delaware ones with a character who was becoming, well, more militant about Jewishness? It has been a long while since I've read any of them.
