My weekend with the Kid

Was pleasant and enjoyable, but not very exciting. We had some nice conversation, and we read together, and ate together, and went to Barnes and Nobel and shopped for books, and that's about the gist of it. She gave me a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card as a belated birthday present, and I spent most of it on books. There's a little bit left.

My trip there was easy and I got there a half an hour ahead of schedule. I read the new bujold novella on the trip, aand it was very good. I used the extra time arriving early to use my free credit from the casino in the slots. Won a little more than $12. So that's a good thing.

My trip home was good too, I think we got in early but Im not sure when we were supposed to get in so I don't know.

I called The FWiB yesterday, and Skyped tonight when I got in.

I have to say my trip was overshadowed by the fact that when I left, Christie the Turtle seemed very bad, and I really expected to find her dead when I got home. I am happy to report that is not the case and she is being quite active, and ate well, though obviously still unwell. Tomorrow she is supposed to go to the vet again for her next shot.
