Ignoring election returns
Nov. 8th, 2022 10:13 pmI don't want to know just yet. I am not hopeful, and I am worried.
It's been a busy, somewhat frustrating day. I got up, had breakfast and coffee, and got showered and dressed and went and voted, straight blue of course. There was a bigger crowd than usual, which I hope is a good sign.
Came home and started trying to find a vet for Christie. Turns out the place I tried to make an appointment for yesterday doesn't do exotics any more. I googled and googled, made calls, found a place in Astoria, but the soonest they could give me was next Thursday. To make a long story short, I am taking her into Manhattan tomorrow morning for a 10:00 appointment. They were able to squeeze me in because of a cancellation. But it's going to be hella-expensive. The CareCredit card was almost paid off. Oh well.
That was interrupted by my going to the Rite Aid for my prescription pickup and flu shot. The flu shot was not bad, my arm is a teeny bit sore, but that's all.
Came home and finished the calls for Christie's vet trip, culminating in what I said above.
I went and lay down and played solitaire, and texted
mashfanficchick to find out how Dani is. She's at a returns watch party, though I gather the race is such she may not know for a few days is she won or lost.
At 7:00 I Skyped the FWiB. We only talked a short while though, sadly.
At 8 I had my Al-anon meeting, which was OK, very small, but OK>
Called Oldest Brother for the third time, and called the Kid. She finally answered after not answering all day and yesterday, turns out she has another cold.
And that's the day. I'm nervous about tomorrow, taking a turtle through the MTA to Manhattan. But at least I got her an appointment.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. I voted.
3. Found a place to take Christie and got an appointment.
4. Flu shot.
5. Lovely weather again.
6. Friends.
