Getting settled in
Aug. 9th, 2023 10:00 pmSlept till around 10, then was able to call Oldest Brother from the bedroom upstairs, never able to do that before. Had breakfast and coffee, showered and dressed, and wandered down to Linda and Alan's cottage.
Ended up spending several hours with them, Linda biked to Hillers for produce, and was kind enough to get me some peaches while she was there. $5, very nice, but they need time to ripen. Alan made me a sandwich for lunch, which was very kind.
I walked down to the beach afterward and brought up a log of driftwood for the front yard.
I Skyped the FWiB, still very glitchy but so nice having the option. While we were Skyping, Carrie M drove by and asked if I'd been able to access the WiFi. I assured her I had and thanked her profusely.
Then I made hummingbird nectar and hung the feeder. No hummers yet though, but I have hopes for tomorrow morning.
I actually did it, I put in an Instacart order. While I was waiting for it, I started reading The Magician's Daughter, one of the many books I bought at Barnes and Noble, and brought up with me to read.
I called the Kid and we had a brief conversation'
Sue got home from work and stopped in for a visit. We had a nice time talking, and only stopped when my alarm wen off to call Middle Brother.
I had a hard time getting the phone to connect to call him but eventually I did. He's looking forward to the comedy show tomorrow.

mashfanficchick a few times over the course of the day.
Eventually they began shopping my Instacart order, and eventually it got here! Now that I know it works, I have no worries about being here without a car. I did give explicit directions in the order, so that helped.
And that is my first day here.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Instacart.
3. And my shopper.
4. My cousins.
5. And Alan.
6. Carrie M.
