Walk to Olcott
Aug. 10th, 2023 10:45 pmI got up this morning and ate and had coffee, and showered and dressed, and called the nursing home to ask about Oldest Brother's condition. Got some good answers, and then decided on the spur of the moment to walk into town for the day.
My main goal was to get a two prong adaptor from Dollar General so I can plug my computer in and use it here on the porch where the WiFi is the strongest. I also had an idea for what to get as a thank you present for
mashfanficchick for taking care of Oreo and Christie.
So I walked the three I think miles into Olcott. I was afraid I would get caught in a storm, it was sunny when I set out but soon clouded up and got very windy, and I heard thunder in the distance. But it passed, and got sunny again.
I went to the Dollar General, and then I went to the Village Shoppes. I had lunch there, an Italian sausage with peppers and onions and a diet Coke. Then I walked through the shops, didn't find anything I wanted to buy, though. I got ice cream, and then started walking back. The little amusement park doesn't open till Friday so I couldn't go there.
I walked back through Krull Park, and back. I am stiff and achy and have blisters on my feet but I enjoyed myself.
I plugged the computer into the close outlet, so I won't have to worry about it running low on battery when I Skype the FWiB any more.
While I was waiting for the FWiB to Skype, Sue came by and we had a nice talk. The FWiB was concerned I didn't answer my email so he phoned, and Sue took the opertunity to go see Linda. I Skyped the FWiB, and just as we finished Sue passed by, and I found out Linda and Alan are watching TV so rather than interrupt them I just had dinner and lay down on the couch to read The Magician's Daughter.
I tried calling Oldest Brother for the third time but he didn't answer, might be asleep.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. My cousins.
3. I am able to walk into town.
4. Perry's ice cream.
5. Dollar General.
6. Heard for the Eshelman's this morning, they are taking me to dinner Sunday.
