Manhattan Training
Oct. 27th, 2023 10:39 pmGot up early this morning for a training in Manhattan, No-sew Wearable Circuits. I didn't have coffee or breakfast because they were supposed to provide it. Got there early to find that Panera had messed up and there was no breakfast or coffee. I ended up going to a coffee shop and buying stuff. Expensive but there was a discount with my staff ID.
The training itself was lots of fun, actually. I should be able to do some programs on it, too.
It was all day and they did provide lunch, which was tasty. Sandwiches and salad, with chips and a cookie.
The program ended a bit before 4 so I got an early start getting to the Bronx for my meeting. I took the 6 train to Westchester Square and the 40 bus from there. I ate at Boston Market, a pot pie because I wasn't hungry enough for the chicken dinner. Ironically, though I had cash this time, their system was up and I paid debit card.
The meeting was very good. We got some new people. Hope they come back.
Then I got on the 50 bus to go home. In the middle of the Whitestone Bridge it broke down, and we had to take a 44 from there. This has happened before. At least this time the 44 bus didn't get it's mirror knocked off and have to be taken out of service while we waited for the next one, like last time it happened.
Anyway, I finally got home and called Oldest Brother for the third time, but this time he didn't pick up. Must have been asleep.
Then I called the Kid but she didn't pick up either though she texted that she was driving.
Then I Skyped the FWiB for about a half hour, and that was good.
Now I'm going to pay my rent online, and go to bed.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Fun training.
3. My meetings and the people there.
4. The bus mishap didn't hold me up to long.
5. Lovely weather.
6. Despite being signed up the boss wasn't at the training.
