I need new glasses
Mar. 9th, 2024 10:13 pmMy eyes are really getting bad, particularly my left eye, which has always been worse than my right eye, I don't know why. It's been about two years or so since I had my eyes checked, and I need to do that pretty soon. Not to mention get a glaucoma test.
Anyway, I got to work on time. It wasn't raining when I left for work so I forgot my umbrella, a fact which came back to bite me in the evening.
The day was pretty quiet, nothing much happened. I weeded a shelf of graphic novels. At lunch I called the nursing home and made sure that Oldest Brother was safely there. I forgot to ask if he was in the same room, but he's at least on the same floor. I also called the Kid, who called me back and we talked a bit.
The adult librarian and the children's librarian were both working on new displays all day. They are both gorgeous now that they are finished.
The bus never came. I missed the 5:03 by about five minutes, and the 5:32 never showed up, and from what I could tell from my transit apps, the 6:03 wasn't going to either. So I bit the bullet and got an Uber. $35 plus tip, but at least I wasn't standing in a bus shelter in the pouring rain without an umbrella.
I was soaked enough that when I got home I changed immediately into my pajamas. Then I put in a Shipt order to get the coffee that I didn't get the other night. Shipt gave me a credit in the amount that I paid, so it was covered by that. I also got milk, Cheerios, and decaf.
Then I got busy wrapping Middle Brother's birthday presents for tomorrow. After that I had dinner. I called Middle Brother to make sure he knew the clocks change tonight and let him know I know the clocks change tonight. I called
mashfanficchick to make plans for tomorrow. And finally I Skyped the FWiB.
We had a nice time talking. When we got off, I spent time puttering on the computer till pet feeding time. And now it's time for bed. Don't want to be up to late because of losing that hour of sleep from the clock change.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. I can afford an occasional Uber.
3. Restful day.
4. Shipt replaced my coffee.
5. I had just enough wrapping paper to wrap everything.
6. Bed soon.
