Still at mashfanficchick's

So lets recap the last two days.

On Wednesday I got up early to go to the Summer Symposium. I was dozing on the subway when I realized I was at my stop. I jumped up and dashed for the door, and tripped and stumbled over what I think was someone's cart. Somehow I managed not to fall, but I was in a great deal of pain. I sat down on the bench for awhile hoping it would get better, and finally I limped to the Symposium.

The Symposium was actually a lot of fun, but the pain did not get better. Whenever I had to get up and walk somewhere it was obvious something was seriously wrong.

So after it was over I called mashfanficchick and zer mother and asked if they could meet me in Flushing and take me to a doctor. They said yes, so I limped to the subway and got on.

To make a long story shorter, we tried the center of the doctors associated with my health plan, but they were on the verge of closing for the day. I saw a nurse who advised an emergency room for x-rays. But my medical plan charges $150 for an ER visit, though I think that is refundable if you are admitted. But an urgent care is only $50. So we found an urgent care pretty close. And after an exam and X-rays, yes my 5th metatarsal bone in my left foot is broken. So he wrapped it and gave me a surgical shoe to wear and a pair of crutches and said I should see a podiatrist asap to get a cam boot. I called the Kid and told her.

We got dinner at Applebee's and then had Carvel. D&D was cancelled for the night so I didn't miss anything. And it was decided that I should spend at least that night at zer place. So we stopped at my place so ze could feed Oreo and Christie.

I slept on the air mattress which is very comfortable.

This morning I called out sick, and a bit later got a call from the urgent care to make me an appointment with a podiatrist, and I got lucky, I have an appointment for Saturday.

We had lunch, chicken fingers and mac and cheese, and puttered around and napped. The Kid called, and I filled her in.

We had Chinese food for dinner, and I Skyped the FWiB, then watched the new episode of 911. Not as earth-shaking as last week's but a worthy successor to it. I called Middle Brother at 8:30.

At around 9:30 RK came and picked me and mashfanficchick and we went to the Kid's apartment for them to check on her pets. Then we went to my apartment and they fed Oreo and Christie and packed some things including my laptop.

We stopped to get RK food, and had some ourselves. Then we came back here and played a game of Dominion, which is a deck-building game, and fun.

Then RK had to leave, and I started this.

Tomorrow I have my mammogram.
