Things fall apart

Today fell apart rather badly. I had to cancel my mammogram because of trouble with mashfanficchick's mother's car. Much time was spent during the afternoon trying to straighten that trouble out.

RK is going to drive us to the podiatrist tomorrow.

We ordered sandwiches from Jersey Mike's.

Everyone took naps, and then I woke up and Skyped the FWiB.

Then I read for awhile in Sunbringer.

Now going to have something to eat.

And so my life changes

Got up this morning and went to my Al-anon meeting by Zoom. I was a little bit late cause I fell asleep again after setting an alarm for 10:30. But I was only a little late so that's good.

Then after the meeting I got dressed and RK picked me and mashfanficchick up and they took me to the podiatrist. And that's what changed everything.

He said that I absolutely could not go back to work for a month. In a month I will be officially retired. So that's it for working any more. It's over. I get x-rays in three weeks and then go back to see him again and he'll tell me how I'm doing. But that's it for work. I'm done. It's weird.

After that RK took us to get something to eat at Taco Bell, and then to my place where mashfanficchick went and fed the pets and got me some stuff and my mail. Then we went back to zer place. I'm staying here awhile longer, til the car is straightened out and they can take me home and be there if I can't handle the stairs.

So I puttered online until about 8 then Skyped the FWiB. After that we had diner, and the Kid texted me and I filled her in on everything.

Now I have to finish the solitaire jigsaw puzzle game before it expires at midnight.
