City day

I got up at 9 and called mashfanficchick. Ze said Winnie wasn't awake yet, and ze would call me back when plans were decided. So I got up and had breakfast, and when I was making coffee ze called back and said plans were to go to the Manhattan Children's Museum.

So I decided to skip my Al-anon meeting, and showered and dressed and headed in to the museum.

I met up with them there and we looked around while Winnie did the hands on things. We stayed for several hours and it was fun.

Then we went to a shoe store for Winnie because she needed new shoes, and Dani got her two pairs, one of which wee these cute, silly "bare foot" toe-shoes.

Then we went to the Barnes and Noble next to the shoe store and went to the cafe. The plan was for Dani to buy Winnie the next book in the series she's reading. But I decided to get her a book too, The Hobbit. I had thought about it anyway, and the bare foot shoes decided it for me. So much like hobbit feet! Then mashfanficchick pointed out their children's summer reading program, eight books read gets a free book. So Winnie filled out the form and got a free book too. But I do hope she likes The Hobbit! I also got myself a unicorn book mark. It's beautiful.

Then we went to a playground, and Winnie played with some kids there, and Dani, mashfanficchick and I sat on a shady bench and chatted, It was very nice. We decided on sushi for dinner, and ordered it to be delivered to mashfanficchick's place, then we started back.

We walked and walked. We took the 1 train to Times Square, and walked to the E, only to find it was running on the F line, and we had to walk back to the F train. Exhausting. I was drenched in sweat.

Finally, all exhausted and aching, we got back to zer place. The sushi was waiting for us, with zer mother. We divvied it up and enjoyed.

I hung around for a little while after that and we chatted, but when it got to 11 I had to get home. I Ubered of course.

Got home in time to Skype the FWiB for a little bit. He was pretty tired though, so it wasn't long.

I fed the pets and started here, and that was the day.

Day of relaxation

I slept later than I intended to again, and called mashfanficchick to find out what was up today. Ze and Dani and Winnie were going out with Elissa and Reet. Also the Starsky and Hutch Creative Work Session for today was cancelled, so that left me nothing to do except read and relax after yesterday's exertions.

I had breakfast and coffee. I puttered on the computer. I put away the contents of one of the bags of stuff I brought home from work, and that was my cleaning for the day aside from a few little things.

One thing I did, I realized that I had to reschedule my X-ray appointment, firstly because I rescheduled the podiatrist appointment til Saturday so we could go to a Mets game Thursday afternoon, and secondly because if I had an appointment for the X-ray at 4:25 Tuesday that would kill our plans for the Queens Zoo. So with some difficulty I rescheduled the X-ray for Thursday morning, before the Mets game.

I went to the bedroom and played solitaire on the phone and then started Gaudy Night, the next Peter Wimsey book.

At 7 I Skyped the FWiB, and at 8:30, when we finished, I called Middle Brother. He is fine, but nothing is new.

After that I had dinner, and then I went to the bedroom and played more solitaire and read more of Gaudy Night until pet feeding time.

Tomorrow is supposed to be going into the city again, so I'm glad I got this chance to rest up. After several months of not walking because of retiring and the broken foot, I am out of shape, badly.
