Saw Oldest Brother today
Aug. 27th, 2024 10:30 pmI got up around 10:30 and had breakfast and coffee.
Then I showered and dressed and went out to the nursing home to see Oldest Brother. He was asleep when I got there, I think he sleeps most of the time. But he woke up and we had a nice visit.
I brought my Nook along and started reading him the most recent Penric and Desdemona story by Lois McMaster Bujold. He seemed to follow what was going on, and appreciate it. He was trying to talk more than he has been, but it's still worse than right after the stroke happened. Anyway, I stayed for about two hours and then walked home.
After that I puttered online awhile, and then did my daily cleaning. I didn't do much, just emptied the last of the bags I brought home from the library when I retired. One of them contained stuff that had been in my locker since I came to that branch from my previous two branches. I started going through it.
There were packets of photographs from years and years ago. Don't know why they were there in the library but I must have brought them in at some point and never brought them home. So many memories.
I looked at them all and put them in my desk. Not sure what I'll do with them.
Anyway, I cleaned up the contents of the bags and put stuff away and that was my cleaning for the day. After that I puttered online, including sending a PM on Ship of Fools, to Croesos, just to keep in touch Then at 7 I Skyped the FWiB.
We talked for an hour til 8 when it was time for my Al-anon meeting by Zoom. Unusually good tonight. Several people dropped in so it wasn't just S and M and me.
After the meeting I had dinner, then went into the bedroom and played solitaire and scrolled Facebook on my phone. Then it was pet feeding time, and I fed the pets and started here.
