Saw the Kid finally

Got up around 10:30 and had breakfast and coffee.

Then I did my daily cleaning, this time in the bedroom and bathroom. I got another bag of recycling and one of trash. I took them, and an empty box, to the garbage, and then walked around the block.

I puttered online, and read two more chapters of the next Le Guin novel, Planet of Exile.

Finally at 3 I started getting ready. I took a shower and washed my hair, and moussed it, which I don't normally do. I got partly dressed and waited for my hair to dry a bit before I finished.

Finally left at 5:30. Got the bus to Flushing, then the 7 train, transferred at Queensboro Plaza to the N. From there I was expecting to have some trouble finding the restaurant, but I didn't.

I was about 15 minutes early, but they got there pretty quick and they seated us early. We shared appetizers, and I had a cocktail. Then I had the mushroom risotto, which was delicious. We didn't have dessert though.

The Kid opened her long, long belated birthday cards and presents, and seemed to like them. Then she invited me to come back and see how they have set up the apartment with all the new furniture and stuff. So I did.

Everything is lovely, and I saw her cat, Carmina, and once again I was reminded of how tiny that cat really is. I always forget when I don't see her. And Izio the snake was peeking out too.

She showed my her mineral collection, and gave me an agate bead bracelet.

Finally I called an Uber and went and waited. Something weird happened with the Uber, the first one that was coming went farther and farther away from the pickup, all the way to College Point, then suddenly the ride cancelled, and a new driver too over and was there in 2 minutes. So I got home.

I Skyped the FWiB and we talked for a short while.

Then it was pet feeding time, so I fed the pets, and started here.
