Bad news on Oldest Brother

I got a call this morning at 9 that Oldest Brother was in the hospital again. They did blood tests yesterday and his white cell count was very high, and today he was having trouble breathing and was pale. It seems it's some infection again. They have him on a ventilator, in ICU. They've done chest X-rays, and that's clear, so no pneumonia fortunately. They did a CT scan of his abdomen too.

I called the Kid, and left her a text message, and she called me back and i filled her in. The hospital called me for permission to put in a center line for pressors.

I figured today would not be a good time to visit so I didn't. Instead I went out with mashfanficchick and RK. I took mass transit over to zer place and we met up in the CVS. Then we went to Target, where I got a little something for the Kid for Christmas, and a couple of penguin decorations, and a new bath scrubby thing.

Then we went to BJ's, where I got a bag of Halo mandarin oranges and a thing of port wine cheese spread.

Then we put in orders at an Indian restaurant, and, after dropping of perishables at mashfanficchick's place, picked it up. I got chicken korma. We went to RK's place to eat. The korma was delicious.

Then RK drove us back, me to my place and mashfanficchick to zers.

I very briefly Skyped the FWiB. Then i had my Al-anon meeting by Zoom, which was OK. Then I Skyped the FWiB again and we had a regular length talk.

By the time we got off it was time for pet feeding so I did that, and then started here.

Tomorrow I go visit Oldest Brother in the hospital.
