Slept this morning until after 12:00. Then I had breakfast and coffee, and called
mashfanficchick. We decided that I would come over and we'd go out and do some errands.
So I showered and dressed, and took the bus to Flushing, and got on the 7 train.
Then there was an announcement that the 7 train wasn't running between Flushing and 74th St. Broadway, which is the stop where I transfer to the E or F due to an incident at 103rd St. and that we should take the 48 bus.
So I got out of the train and went to where the 48 bus stops. There was already a HUGE crowd waiting and when the first bus got there, there was no way I could get in. So I waited for the next one. During that time a guy from the mTA passed by and I learned that the incident at 103rd St. was someone jumping on the tracks. I feel bad for the person, and their friends and family, but what a damned inconsiderate method of suicide.
Anyway, I waited a long time for the next bus and it finally got there and I managed to squeeze on and even got a seat because someone was kind enough to offer me theirs. Then we set out to 74th St.
The traffic was abominable. We inched along most of the route. It took a long time. I did not time it so I don't know exactly but it was long. Still I finally got there, and then my luck changed. I just managed to make an F train, slipped in as the doors were closing. And again someone offered me their seat.
But even so it was so late when I arrived that we decided to skip errands and just order food in. We had Indian, I had chicken korma and a mango lassi.
mashfanficchick was busy from 6:15 to 7:00, and at 7:00 I Skyped the FWiB from my phone, but not for long because I had forgotten to bring a charger with me and my phone battery was very low.
Then at 8:00 we watched 911, and which was a very exciting, anxious episode. Then we watched Dr. Odyssey, which was also fun. Finally, we watched an episode of Rescue: Hi-surf. At 8:30 I called Middle Brother. He is fine.
And then, since my phone was almost dead, ze ordered an Uber for me and i came home and fed the pets, and here I am.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Good TV.
3. People willing to offer me seats on the bus and subway.
4. Good dinner.
5. The Kid texted me.
6. Middle Brother doing well.
