Middle Brother's Holiday Party

Got up at 10:00 and had breakfast and coffee, and then showered and dressed in my black pants and sparkly Christmas sweater. I moved stuff to my good purse, and headed over to mashfanficchick's place.

When I got there ze got dressed and we headed on the bus to zer doctor's appointment. I sat in the waiting room and read Somewhere Beyond the Sea while I waited.

Then we se off to Middle Brother's Holliday Party, which is the residents and staff of his residential program and two guests per each resident, at a very nice event hall. I didn't tell Middle Brother we were gooing to be there, to surprise him.

We took a Lyft to the Forset Hills train station, sadly we missed the train that we were aiming for so we had to take the next, which instead of being direct to Ronkonkama (our destination) made us transfer at Mineola.

We eventually got to Ronkonkama and took an Uber to the place, Villa Lombardi's. Although we were technically late, plenty of people, including Middle Brother's group home, were still getting there.

He was happy to see us, and we took some nice pictures. The food was good, and mashfanficchick was able to get a gluten free meal. It was very nice, and fun in a subuded way and I am very glad we went.

I texted on of the pictures to the Kid, and much later she answered and that was nice.

Anyway, after everyone started to leave, at 9-ish though the event was sheduled til 10:00, we Ubered back to the train station and took the train to Jamaica, where we took the E subway back here to mashfanficchick's place, where I am spending the night.

We hung out for a couple of hours, and now it's bedtime.

Bryant Park

I got up this morning at mashfanficchick's place at 10-ish, I had coffee and showered, and then we set off to Bryant Park to the Holiday Shops.

We first got food, from an all gluten free Mexican food place. Then we started shopping around.

After a couple of hours we broke from the Holiday Shops to go into the New York Public Library research library, which is right on Bryant Park, to the gift shop. We did a lot of shopping there too.

Then we went to the Chipotle across the street and got stuff to drink and stayed there awhile.

And then we went back to Bryant Park, I got hot chocolate, and we walked around some more, and finally got food from another Mexican place with gluten free tamales. Delicious!

Eventually we finished off the shops, and ew separated to go home. I completely forgot that I could get the 7 train from 5th avenue, and walked all the way back to Grand Central to get it there, but the exercise is good for me, and it was an interesting walk, and not really very far so that's OK.

The Kid texted me. Turns out she and her boyfriend were in Bryant Park too, but we never ran into them. She gave me a suggestion for a store she saw there that we totally missed somehow.

Took the 7 train to Flushing and the 20 bus from there. It was COLD, 27 degrees (F), feels like 19. I got home and everything was all right.

Fed the pets, and Teamed the FWiB. We didn't talk for very long because it was late.

And now it's time for bed.

Edited to add: Forgot to say last night, I called Middle Brother from the subway station, he is fine. Had a great time at the party the other night.
