No joy on the apartment

It was small, which I was willing to settle for, but it was dirty and needed painting and there was no refrigerator! I spoke to the landlady, who seems a bit of a nutter, too, and she seemed surprised that I would expect the place fixed up before I occupied it. So I think it's a no-go. *sigh* I need a place SOON.

Spoke to the FWiB, he was more coherent and together than recently. But still drinking.

I went to an Alanon group anniversary tonight with J. Good speakers, good time.

Spent some time cleaning the apartment. Not much better but some.

Man, that sucks. But better to find out that she's a neglectful landlord before you pay her or move in.

Most states require that the landlord / representative paint & clean the apartment after a tenant moves in.

The crazy thing is, the real estate agent spoke to her and she had agreed to a refrigerator, and I was trying to get her to agree to let me take the cost of a professional cleaning off the rent, and she was supposed to call me to talk about it and she never did. I think I'm well off not taking the place.
