Started the day with therapy. My therapist called a bit after 10:30 and we talked. Then I had breakfast and coffee, and showered, dressed, and went over to the nursing home to see Oldest Brother.

He was not too good, very sleepy and not very responsive. The music guy from the hospice came for the first time today and played him music and sang. I think he enjoyed it, but it was hard to say.

John and Denise came just as I was leaving to be picked up by mashfanficchick and Mandy. So I got to say hello to them.

Then we headed off to New Jersy to see Labyrinth in Concert, the Jim Henson movie with a band providing live music and light effects.

The drive took us much longer than we expected, but we had left plenty of time so we were able to get a fast dinner first and still be on time.

The show was a lot of fun. I love that movie so much! We had excellent seats, and it was really good.

After it ended I bought a souvenir tee shirt, and then we got ice cream from an ice cream truck.

The drive back was much better than the drive there. Now time for bed.

Got up this morning and had breakfast and coffee. Then showered and did not use deoderant or powder because I had to get to my mammogram and sonogram.

At 1:15 I took an Uber over, and while I was Ubering I got a message from Eva Rice that she and her father had seen Oldest Brother already, and were going to see him again, and did I want to meet up with them? So I found out their hotel was literally around the corner from where I was having the mammogram, and I told them I'd meet them there after I finished.

The mammogram and sonogram went fine, I guess I'll get the results when I go to the oncologist on May 14th. Which I hope the Kid can take me to.

I walked to their hotel, the Marco on Northern Blvd, and met them. We decided to go out for coffee so I took them to the little coffee shop which we discovered when Steve and Amy were here.

We had a nice time having coffee and talking, and then walked over to the nursing home and visited with Oldest Brother. I don't know how long we stayed, but after we left, we decided to get dinner.

I had eaten with Jonathan at Pho Metro before, and he suggested that, so we walked to the bus stop and took the 50 over to Farrington, and went to Pho Metro. It was delicious as always.

Then we took the 25 bus back, and said goodbye and I went home. I got here a little after 7:00, just in time to Skype the FWiB, but after tomorrow, no more Skype, it's Teams.

We talked til 8:00, then I went to my D&D game. We fought more skums. It was a lot of fun.

Got off close to 10:30, and fed the pets, then called mashfanficchick to work out plans for the next two days. John and Denise are going to see Oldest Brother Friday and Sunday so that affects my plans a bit.

Now I'm doing this, and will go to bed and maybe read.

Got up late this morning, and was just having my coffee when I got a text from Amy that she and Steve had decided on the spur of the moment to come down from Hartford and see Oldest Brother.

I hurried as fast as I could to shower and dress, and they arrived around 2:00. They had John and Denise with them and we went over to the nursing home to see Oldest Brother.

We had a nice visit, and Betsy called while we were there so he got to talk to her as well.

Then when Oldest Brother got tired, we decided to go to have coffee somewhere. We found a really nice little coffee shop around the corner from me that I had no idea was there. I will go back. We sat in back and had coffee, and talked for a good long time. Then finally Steve and Amy went into Manhattan to see their son Kevin, and drove John and Denise back to wherever they left their car, I don't know.

I walked home, and called mashfanficchck and found that ze and Mandy were going to watch Black Widow tonight, and did I want to join them? So I took the bus over, ze having shown me how to do the whole trip by bus rather than the subway.

I met up with them in Starbucks, and we sat for awhile talking, then went back to zer place. We hung out and chatted, and eventually watched the movie, which I enjoyed very much.

After that we had something to eat, and watched an episode of an animated Marvel show called What If... which was very funny and good.

Finally I Ubered home, and here I am.

Got up later than I should have for my Al-anon meeting. Ate breakfast, had coffee, showered and dressed, then headed to the meeting by bus. Missed one by a few seconds, so I was really late. But it was a good meeting anyway.

After the meeting I Ubered to the nursing home where I was to meet John, Denise, the Ki, and her boyfriend. I was the first one there, so I visited with Oldest Brother by myself for awhile.

The Kid and her boyfriend were the first ones there after me, and we had a nice visit with him while we waited. The others finally got there, having had an awful time finding parking, and they had Brianne with them which was lovely.

Laurie called John, and talked to Oldest Brother for awhile, so that was nice, and we had a very good visit. We left when he seemed to be tired, and The Kid and her boyfriend had tickets to a movie they had to get to

WE were joined by mashfanficchick and after we said goodbye to the Kid and her boyfriend, we went to the diner to eat.

We stayed there a long time, after we finished eating, just talking, and it was very good, like old times sort of.

Then they drove mashfanficchick home, and then me, and I got in and Skyped the FWiB.

After that I puttered online, and then went to the bedroom to play solitaire til pet feeding time.

Tomorrow Nancy is coming up from the DC area! I didn't expect her to come. I'm glad she is.

Got up this morning at 10:00, and breakfasted and coffeed. Called mashfanficchick to ascertain that ze was coming over today. Ze was, so I did some quick work in the living room, including cleaning the litter pan, and then showered and dressed.

Puttered around til ze got here, and then we took down the Christmas tree, thank heavens. Nothing got broken, and all is safely put away for next Christmas.

I got a phone call from the hospice social worker, who wanted some information about Oldest Brother's life. I filled her in as best I could. They are going to start him with music therapy.

Then we took some garbage out, and then we gave up for the day and walked into Flushing and ate at a noodle house. It was very good.

mashfanficchick showed me a different way to get to zer apartment, just by bus, and we did that, and hung out for awhile. It was 8:30 and time to call Middle Brother, so I did. He went to a soccer game yesterday. Then we watched the current episode of Will Trent on Hulu.

After that I Ubered home and Skyped the FWiB. Or rather, Teamed him.

And now here I am.

And finally our work in mashfanficchick's mother's house is completed!

I got up at 11:00, had coffee, showered and dressed. mashfanficchick's friend Liz G came at 12:00 and we met her at the house, and took two trips to the storage unit, bringing the last boxes over.

Then we had lunch at a Chinese restaurant, which was delicious.

Finally, Liz G drove a few things from the house to mashfanficchick's apartment, and the very last thing of all, mashfanficchick and I walked a folding table that wouldn't fit in the car from the house to the apartment. And that was that.

I stayed awhile longer, to hang and relax, and then I Ubered home.

I got home a little after 6:00 and fed the pets, and puttered on the computer til 7:00 when I Skyped the FWiB.

We talked til 8:00 when I had my Al-anon meeting. That was very small but good. M wasn't there. I hope she's OK.

Then I had a little to eat, and texted with the Kid about funeral arrangements. A depressing subject but now that Oldest Brother has entered hospice, pretty necessary. It looks as though we'll do a direct cremation with a service at the crematorium, followed by a two hour memorial at the funeral home. I hope that cousin Cliff will be able to do the service.

Went to the bedroom and played solitaire, then came out and fed the pets again. Time for bed pretty soon.

Slept late and got up around 12:00. Had breakfast and coffee, showered, washed my hair, dressed, and left to see Oldest Brother.

Stayed for about an hour. He was pretty good, about the same.

Then I came over to mashfanficchick's place. We did some chores, then ordered dinner and watched Will Trent. Dinner was pernil and beans and rice.

We watched Will Trent for several hours, at 8:30 I called Middle Brother. He was out at Belmont Lake State Park yestrday and had a good time.

We went back to watching Will Trent, and have now finally caught up to the current episodes. We'll watch Tuesday's episode Thursday.

I Skyped the FWiB from my phone after Will Trent.

I'm spending the night here again.

I texted John and The Kid, no answers from either yet. Laurie texted me to wish me Happy Easter.

Got phone calls this morning from the hospice guy. The long and short is that the hospice will not cover the PEG feeding but the nirsing home itself will continue to do so. So they need some additional paperwork which is pretty much just a confirmation from the nursing home, the hospice care will start Monday or Tuesday.

I also spoke to Robyn about the funeral planning. This will be expensive but I should be able to afford it. I'm figuring a direct cremation, and a memorial in the funeral home some time following.

At about 4:45 Sue and Danny arrived. They picked me and mashfanficchick up and we went to the nursing home. We visited for about an hour and a half I think.

Then we went to Astoria and met up with the Kid and her boyfriend at a restaurant called Queens Room. We had dinner, and I had a glass of wine. It was lovely, we had a very good time.

After dinner we all went to Martha's Country Kitchen for dessert. There was too long a wait for a table, so we got our pastries to go and went to Ditmar Park to look at the Manhattan skyline. We ate our dessert on a bench. Then we said good bye to the Kid and her boyfriend, and Danny drove me and mashfanficchick to zer place where I picked up my stuff, and they drove me home.

I Skyped the FWiB, after feeding the pets.

Then I started here.

6. Things worked out with the hospice.

Since I didn't know when Linda and Steve were coming today, I got up at 9:00 in order to have time to get ready. I texted Linda and she said they would be in in three hours.

I breakfasted and showered and dressed. I got phone calls from the nursing home about hospice, and called the hospice person. I got a call from Middle Brother's group home that I needed to sign his life plan document, so she emailed that to me and I printed it, signed it, took a picture of it and sent it to myself, saved it to the computer and renamed it, and emailed it back. By the time I did that, the cousins were almost here.

They arrived a little before 12:00, I called mashfanficchick and told zer. We decided to eat lunch first so I took them to the diner, and ze met us there. It was very nice.

Then we went to the nursing home. Oldest Brother is in a different unit, semi-private, one room mate. He was happy to see us. mashfanficchick said hello, and then left. We stayed for a little less than two hours.

They drove me home. The Kid called, and I talked to her for a good while. She is very sad about Oldest Brother. Then I went and lay down and played solitaire for awhile, then came out and puttered on the computer until 7:00 when I Skyped the FWiB. We talked til 8:00 when I went to my D&D game.

The game was very fun. We explored the sunken part of the dungeon, and fought aquatic monsters called skum.

Then I fed the pets, and had a bit to eat.

BTW, this morning the turtle laid eggs again, at least two. I actually saw her lay one of them.

Got up early and ate breakfast and showered and dressed, and went over to mashfanficchick's mother's house and we worked. The movers came for the second time at 4:00. WE packed stuff, and got everything done.

Tomorrow I will not be there because the cleaning crew will be, and that sort of thing is the stuff of nightmares for me. They will empty the house entirely and trash everything there that we didn't take.

I heard from the hospital, Oldest Brother will be discharged and sent back to the nursing home tomorrow. I wish he was staying in the hospital but he's stable, so... back he goes. The nursing home will probably send him to hospice though.

After the movers took the load to the storage unit, we took the bus and subway back, and went back to the house for some last things. Zer father said to go out to dinner somewhere nice on him, and we invited RK to join too. We chose The Cheesecake factory.

RK came and picked us up, and we went first to CVS for mashfanficchick to get some things. Then we briefly went back to the house to let RK symbolically "mow it with fire", which he has said he wanted to do for about 20 years. We enjoyed that, then we went to the restaurant.

We had a good time and it was delicious. I had a peach Bellini to drink.

Then RK drove me home and here I am.
