I slept late this morning, coming downstairs abou 11:15. Then I had breakfast and coffee, and didn't do very much for a long time.

I played a game called Cat Tails: Wildwood with Winnie, and I sat with [personal profile] mashfanficchick with Theo, and I read in my book.

Eventually around 6:30 we decided to bathe Moose, which requires going to a pet store with dog washing stations.

So Dani, [personal profile] mashfanficchick, and I packed Moose and Theo inthe car and took off. Dani and [personal profile] mashfanficchick bathed Moose while I followed Theo around. We went into the room with the adoptable cats, and played with them for awhile.

Finally they were done giving Moose his bath, and and we got him a treat and we left. Theo got a little cranky.

Got back and had dinner with [personal profile] mashfanficchick, then Teamed the FWiB.

And now I'm doing this.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Cute kitties.

3. Good books.

4. Sitting on the porch with Dani.

5. Clean doggy.

6. Good dinner.

Got up and had breakfast and coffee, then dressed and went to Target with [personal profile] mashfanficchick, Dani, and Winnie. We were there to buy Winnie some bras, her first. So that was fun.

Then we came back and cleaned out [personal profile] mashfanficchick's mother's car, which has been stored here since August.

That took several hours, then we all came in and napped or dozed.

Eventually I Teamed the FWiB. We talked for an hour, and that was fun.44

At 8:30 I called Middle Brother. He is fine and looking forward to his Spring Fling on Wednesday.

Then we made dinner, individual nacho bites. Yummy.

And now I'm doing this.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Middle Brother having fun.

3. The car is cleaned out.

4. Good dinner.

5. Lovely weather for it.

6. Fun in the kitchen together.

Got up at 8:30 this morning. Then I had breakfast and coffee, and waited til people were moving to get into my bathing suit and tee shirt and shorts.

Eventually everyone got erady and we went to Zoombezi Bay Water Park. We rented a cabana for the day, and we spent a lovely day splashing around.

[personal profile] mashfanficchick and I did the lazy river rides, both the all ages and the adults only (has a swimup bar).

We also went to the zoo and aquarium which is next door, for an hour. We fed the rays, and saw a lot of cool animals.

At the end of the day, Dani, Winnie and I did one of the big water slides. The attendant was a jerk and as a result poor Winnie didn't have fin on it. but Dani and I loved it, though we felt bad for Winniw.

Then we came home, and I Teamed the FWiB.

And now I'm doing this.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The water park.

3. Friends.

4. Zoo animals.

5. Feeding the rays.

6. Good day.

Day at COSI

Jun. 6th, 2025 10:26 pm
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Today I got up and had breakfast and coffee. Then I showered and dressed, and [personal profile] mashfanficchick and I and Winnie and Theo went to COSI, the children's science museum.

We had a really fun time. I took Winnie and [personal profile] mashfanficchick took Theo and we mostly went our separate ways. First Winnie and I did the Star Wars exhibit, then Life and the Progress. We ended up in Gadgets, where we stayed for the remainder of our time there. It was a lot of hands on doing things.

Anyway, then Dani picked us up. Theo wanted to go home, and sp we dropped him off, and the rest of us went to a really nice park. It's designed to be inclusive, accessible for the handicapped. It is really nice.

After that, Dani and [personal profile] mashfanficchick went to Trader Joes and I took Winnie to Barnes and Noble. I bought a book, because you can't go to Barnes and Noble without buying a book and I got one for Winnie because it would be cruel not to get her one when I got myself one.

Then we went to Skyline Chili and I had Cincinnati chili for the first time, a five-way. It was delicious. I loved it.

Then we came back. Been trying to get Theo to bed ever since. I hope to Team with the FWiB for a few minutes now.

And I just did.

Oh, RK texted, he took care of my pets today and all is well.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The science museum.

3. Barnes and Nob;e.

4. Got the third in the Godkiller series.

5. Friends.

6. Cincinnati chili.

Ohio Day

Jun. 5th, 2025 09:04 pm

Yesterday as I posted I made it successfully to the airport, through security, and onto the plane and to Ohio. I was picked up by [personal profile] mashfanficchick and Dani. We then went and did shopping at Target and Kroger, and then went back to the house where the kids Theo and Winnie, and John were waiting for us.

Also there were the two cats, Moo and Jiji, and the dog, Moose. Fun all around!

Today we went to Target again to get the new Switch which was just released, and which Target had limited supplies of. We got there with only two left in stock!

After that we spent the day in the house, they were playing with the Switch, and [personal profile] mashfanficchick and I hung out and read with them in the living room.

There was a brief but drenching downpour at one point.

My Earthlink email was not working, it was receiving mail but not sending, so I switched to gmail to keep in contact with the FWiB.

At around 7:30 I Teamed the FWiB, until 8:00 when I called Middle Brother.

Played with Moose for awhile, now getting caught up here.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Friends.

3. Fun times.

4. Cute pets.

5. They got the Switch in time.

6. Bed soon (I got very little sleep last night)

Posting from my phone cause I haven't got my computer set up yet. But I had no troubles with the airport or anything, got here just fine. More tomorrow.

Got up around 11:00 and had breakfast and coffee. Showered, washed my hair, and dressed.

Then I did various things in preparation for my trip. I took out the garbage, and walked around the block. I took out the recycling, and walked around the block. I cleaned the cat pan, and took out the dirty litter and walked around the block.

I waited for the purse I ordered to show up, as it was to be delivered today.

At 3:30 I checked in for my flight online, and printed out my boarding pass. I also emailed it to my computer and phone, for extra security. It was the first time I used the printer since setting Oldest Brother's ashes and pictures there.

RK had a job interview today, but was done by 2:30ish. He went home, and then came and got me at 5:00.

WE went to California Pizza Kitchen and I got us dinner, that's his thank you for taking care of my cat and turtle while I'm gone. It was delicious, I had the Wild Mushroom pizza with the white truffle oil. Yum.

I gave him my keys, and [personal profile] mashfanficchick's too, and kept the one I had copied for myself so I can lock up tomorrow when I leave.

When I got home my purse had been delivered, and it was almost time for my Al-anon meeting. I used the short time before to put the things from my purse that I want to bring in my computer bag. And then I had the meeting. It was very small, just me and M and S.

After the meeting I Teamed the FWiB. We talked for a little over an hour. After we were done, I took my Pathfinder book, my dice, and one of my Al-anon books and the new purse and fit them all in the duffle bag.

Then I fed the pets, and started here.

Oh, the turtle tank light was on when I got up this morning. So I assume I did in fact get the timer set up properly.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. RK.

3. Everything fit in my duffle bag.

4. Turtle tank light timer works.

5. Got checked in OK.

6. My new purse is just what I wanted for now.
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Got up this morning around 11:30, had breakfast and coffee, then showered and dressed and went to pick up my laundry.

Again, it was light enough that I didn't bring the cart, and I just carried it home and put it in the bedroom. Then I put in a Shipt order.

Then while I was waiting for the order to come, I started packing for my trip. I used my duffle bag, as it's good for a carry on luggage and easy to carry. I packed all my clothes that I'm bringing. It won't be enough, I'll have to do laundry while I'm there, but [personal profile] mashfanficchick sings the praises of Dani's washer/dryer combo. Put the dirty clothes in, and they come out clean and dry.

So just when I was finishing up the clothing packing, the Shipt order came so I put that away, and then packed my meds.

Then I puttered around aimlessly, though I did do one important thing, I switched the remaining storage unit, of Oldest Brother's things, onto my credit card, and paid it for the month. Then I texted the Kid to discuss it. We will try to get it cleaned out by the end of this month. One way or another. Sadly there is little in there to save.

I emptied out the extraneous stuff from my computer bag, preparatory to using it as a purse on my trip.

I also ordered a belated birthday present for the Kid, two skeins of very nice yarn.

I spent most of the rest of the afternoon just puttering, though I did take time out to eat.

Then at 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB, or 7:15 to be more precise. We talked for about an hour and a half, and then I had dinner and went and lay down. Played solitaire and read, and at 10 it was pet feeding time.

I fed the pets, and then got out the timer I bought several years ago and attempted to set it up to control the turtle tank light. I think I did it wrong though because it should have turned off by now, and hasn't. I will investigate after I finish writing.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Clean laundry.

3. Packed to go.

4. My pets.

5. Nice warm day.

6. Shipt.

Edited to add: The light just turned off! I think I did it right!
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
I woke up at 5:00 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep til 7:30 when I got up and ate breakfast, and went back to bed. I slept til my alarm when off at 9:00, then I turned it off and went to sleep for another 40 minutes. Which made me really late for starting my day.

I had coffee, and then showered and dressed, and brought the small load of laundry that I got together yesterday down to the laundromat. It was small enough for me to carry without using the cart, so I left directly from there for the Queens Pride Parade and festival.

The location I had was for the staging of the parade, and the Google map directions took me to 90th street on the 7. I got off the subway and spent more time than I should have looking for 90th street, I am ashamed to say. I found it eventually and walked up it to 37th Ave. and 89th Street where the parade was already in motion.

I headed toward the end, and outpaced it so by the time I got to the festival at 75th Street I was at what I think was the beginning of the parade, so I found a spot and watched it all. It is not as flamboyant and exhibitionist as NY Pride, never-the-less, I was surprised and charmed when one of the groups marching was a Girl Scout troop.

Saw Larry when he got there with CUNY, which was nice. Texted with [personal profile] mashfanficchick and with the Kid.

After the end of the parade, I went to the festival. Lots of food, and various displays of organizations. Also things for sale of course. And music.

I had one of those Japanese snacks of fruit on a stick encased in candy glaze, three large, yummy, strawberries. And I had a MozzAreppa. And was given a can of raspberry Peace Tea.

Then I had seen everything, including running into Larry again, and I checked Google maps to find the fastest way to the subway and found that the festival was only a few blocks from the 74th street station. So I could have saved myself a lot of walking by getting off there instead of 90th street, but oh well. It's steps for my Fitbit.

Anyway, I came home, and was pretty achy by then so all I did was sit down and putter online. At 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB, and at 8:30 I called Middle Brother. He is fine, went bowling yesterday.

After that I had dinner, and went and lay down til pet feeding time.

And here I am.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Queens Pride

3. Got lots of exercise.

4. Perfect weather.

5. Clean laundry soon.

6. Bed soon!

Last night, long after I posted here. I gt a text from [personal profile] mashfanficchick that zer friend Larry had posted on Facebook that he had a free ticket to today's Mets game, and as well a free ticket to a private pre-gamme party at the K Korner, and he was looking for someone to go with him. I was a little hesitant but decided to take him up on the offer.

The party was at 2:10, and the game at 4:10, so I had plenty of time for my Al-anon meeting first, but not the diner after. So I set my alarm for 9:00. And then I overslept.

I was late for the meeting, but not badly, I made it in during the opening, before reading the 12 steps. So that was OK.

After the meeting I went to the bus and took the 28 to Flushing. It was awfully crowded and I had to stand the whole way. But the 7 train to Citi Field was fine. I asked several security people the way to the K Korner, and found it just before Larry got there. We had to wait til they let us in to the party but that was only a short while.

There was food and music and beer, nothing else, but I had two hot dogs, a pretzel, some cookies and some popcorn, with a can of Coke cause I HATE beer. They gave out todays giveaway, which is a Hello Kitty Mets bobblehead. It's silly but cute.

A bit before the game started we went to our seats, which were pretty nice. Good view of the field,

The game was lovely. We won 8 to 2, against the Rockies. There was enough suspense to keep it interesting, and some good excitement, and several home runs.

Afterward we went back to Flushing together, and then took the 44 bus in opposite directions. I came home and Teamed the FWiB for almost an hour and a half. Then I got off and ordered a new purse because the zipper on mine has finally given way.

Then I got a small but necessary load of laundry together to take down tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Queens Pride, and I think I'll go after I drop off the laundry. More about that tomorrow.

Going to text and maybe call [personal profile] mashfanficchick after I do this.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. My meetings and the people at them.

3. Larry and his baseball tickets.

4. Mets won!

5. The predicted rain didn't happen.

6. Clean laundry coming.

Got up this morning at 10:00 and had therapy on the phone at 11:00. That was good. My therapist is thinking of retiring. Which would leave me with a new therapist I assume. Not sure I like that idea.

My pension money came as scheduled so I paid my rent and the first payment to the credit card company for Oldest Brother's service.

I ate breakfast and had coffee, then puttered around for awhile before having a shower and dressing. My copy of Written on the Dark arrived and I put it in my suitcase. However, annoyingly, something that I knew was supposed to arrive, a card from Miri S (I have the mail preview thing that the post office provides set up, so I know it should have arrived) didn't. It looks like she forgot my apartment number. I Facebooked her to thank her anyway and let her know in case it got sent back to her.

I hung a picture, the wizard cat that the Kid gave me, with the Command hooks I got, and I also hung the ornament from the Mother's Day card the Kid got me. I have a couple more pictures to hang but these hooks won't be strong enough for them.

I did a tiny amount of cleaning in the living room, just enough to be able to say I did, as I'm going back to the pledge I made to do some cleaning every day.

Aside from that I mostly puttered around until 5:00 when I went into the Bronx for my Al-anon meeting. I left early because I walked to the bank before I went to my usual dinner at the pizzeria. I missed a bus and thought I would have to wait a long time for the next one, but it came very quickly and was almost empty. Go figure.

The meeting was good, and afterward I got a ride to the bus stop with K. It had started raining a little, but wasn't when I got home so that's good.

Came home and Teamed the FWiB. We talked for almost an hour, which was nice.

Then I fed the pets and started here.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Got those things hung.

3. My meetings and the people there.

4. Paid the rent.

5. Didn't get caught in heavy rain.

6. Pizza.

I got up a little earlier than yesterday, around 11:30. Had breakfast and coffee, and eventually showered and dressed.

The first thing I did was call again about the refund from the travel insurance for the trip I canceled back in April. The problem is that instead of sending me an email with a link to set up direct deposit, they sent me a text notifying me they sent another check. So I called and hopefully straightened that out.

I dithered for a long time, but finally worked up the energy to do something about the turtle tank. Temporarily I have given up on getting the python attached to the sink, so I dragged out the siphon. I got it to work semi-well, and was able to remove a little over two buckets of very dirty water, and replaced them with four buckets clean. The tank is still a mess though, prehaps in coming days I'll take out more and replace it.

The Kid texted me while I was cleaning and we had a bit of discussion. I also texted RK to have him come Tuesday for dinner at CPK (which I owe him for taking care of the pets while I'm gone) and to pick up my keys.

Then I puttered around for quite awhile doing not much of anything. Finally at a bit before 7:00, I Teamed the FWiB. We had a lovely time, about an hour and a half.

At 8:30 I called Middle Brother. He is fine, had a barbeque on Memorial Day, and went to a movie sometime this week. He had a good time at both.

After that, I had dinner, and then lay down to read until pet feeding time.

One happy thng, I got the notice that the copy of the new Guy Gavriel Kay book Written on the Dark, that I ordered from Thriftbooks (they also do new books, cheaper than Barnes and Nobel and Amazon!) will be delivered tomorrow. I am going to hold on reading it til the plane trip to Ohio.

That was pretty much the day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Cleaner turtle tank.

3. Hopefully got the trip insurance straightened out.

4. Middle Brother having fun.

5. My book is coming tomorrow.

6. I found my bathing suit.

D&D night

May. 28th, 2025 10:28 pm
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Slept late and didn't get up til after 12:00. Then I had breakfast and coffee, and decided what to do for the day.

Eventually I decided to go into Flushing to get my apartment key copied. I texted RK to make sure he would be able to come and check on the pets while I'm in Ohio, and he can, so I need toy make a spare key.

So I showered and dressed, and headed in to the hardware store on Main Street. I got the key copied, it is a very small, very much for Chinese hardware store, and they only charged $1.50 for the key, which is nice.

After that I decided that since I was in Flushing, I should check out the place I spotted awhile ago that advertises face waxing. It's next to Duane Reade, so I figured that's pretty convenient for me.

So I walked up Main Street, and got to the place. It's on the third floor and no elevator, which was a bummer, but I went up and found a nice looking salon, with reasonable prices, so I got my face waxed.

Then I took the bus home, and decided to do some cleaning in the apartment. NOt a whole lot, but enough to make it look better.

Then after that I puttered around, read a little, and texted the Kid, and just hung out to=il 7:00 when I Teamed the FWiB.

We talked til 8:00 when I had my D&D game. We fought more skum, and found a secret door to what is the last part of this adventure module. No game next week, fortunately it's been postponed for various people who will be otherwise occupied, including me. It's the day I fly to Ohio.

After the game I fed the pets and had dinner, more leftovers from Memorial Day. Delicious.

Then I started here, and here I am.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. RK.

3. Got the key copied.

4. The rain wasn't bad.

5. My D&D group.

6. Waxed face.

I got up around 11:00 after waking up at 10:00. I had breakfast and coffee, and put in a small Shipt order. Among other things I got small Command hooks, to hang some things. [personal profile] mashfanficchick called while I was doing the order and gave me some ideas. Ze flew to Ohio to see Dani and family today.

While I was waiting for the Shipt order I hung the Flowers of Van Gogh poster, using Command poster strips I already had.

The Shipt order arrived and I put it away. Then I used the Command hooks to hang the plaque I mentioned the other day, that Oldest Brother gave me, and a picture I bought in the winter at the Bryant Park Holiday Shops. I have another picture I wanted to hang today but I think it's too heavy for these hooks.

I went to the bedroom and read. Last night I finished Remembered Death, and today I started There is a Tide, which I sadly seem to have already read. I shall reread it anyway.

I puttered online a lot, and ate leftovers from the picnic. Then at 7:00 I Teamed with the FWiB. We talked til 8:00 when I had my Al-anon meeting, which was small, me and M and S. [personal profile] mashfanficchick texted me to let me know ze arrived safely and was picked up by Dani and Winnie.

After that I had more picnic leftovers, and went to the bedroom and played solitaire til pet feeding time.

And that was the day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. [personal profile] mashfanficchick had no travel issues (other than a suitcase wheel breaking)

3. Shipt.

4. Command products.

5. Good books.

6. Leftovers.
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Got up this morning after somewhat broken sleep. Got out of bed at 10:30, had breakfast and coffee, then showered, washed my hair, and dressed. I wore my Old Navy flag tee shirt, and the flag silk scarf (not real silk) that came from Oldest Brother.

Was originally supposed to meet [personal profile] mashfanficchick at around noonish, but ze was held up by busses being canceled due to a Memorial Day parade near zer father's, where ze was staying. So I took my time getting ready.

Left the apartment at a bit before 1:00, and got to the Starbucks near zer a bit before 2:00, where I waited for zer.

We met up and went to the apartment and got ready for our picnic. We had lots of good stuff, largely fruits, vegetables and cheese. We packed a blanket and I had my folding chair. We went to Forest Park, and found a nice shady spot, and settled down.

By very pleasant coincidence zer friend Matt-Rob happened by, and he stopped, and stayed with us for the afternoon. So there were three of us, and that was nice. We talked and ate, and had a good time.

Finally it got to be about 6:30, and getting chillier. We packed up and said good bye to Matt-Rob, and headed back to the apartment.

We got there just in time to catch the very end of the Mets game, a 2-1 win over the White Sox.

I stayed talking til 8:30, then I Ubered home.

The FWiB has gotten his IMac working again, and we were able to Team. Though it turns out that Teams is not compatible with IMac, and he had to use the IPad, while using the IMac to look things up. But we got to see each other, which is the main thing.

Then it was pet feeding time, so I fed the pets, and got started here.

A satisfying day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB got his computer fixed.

2. The many who died for this country.

3 Forest Park.

4. Good food.

5. My cat.

6. Friends.
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
My postponed Mother's Day today. I got up at 9:00, had breakfast. coffee, showered and dressed, Then I headed over to the Kid's place. Why she wanted me to come over there rather than pick me up here, I have no idea, but whatever.

So I got there at 12:00, and she and I and her boyfriend went to the Bronx Botanical Gardens for the Flowers of Van Gogh exhibit.

When we got there the parking lot was filled to capacity and we had to park in the additional parking at Fordham University, and it took ages to get in. But eventually we all were passed in though the gates and went to see exhibits.

We walked to the rose garden, going through the Thrane Forest. That was nice, and the roses were wonderful. By then we were feeling hungry so we made our way back to the grill and ate there. I had a tuna and cheddar melt, which was delicious, and a can(!) of wine.

Then we went trough the greenhouses where the actual Van Gogh flowers exhibit was. Very nice, and I loved the greenhouses.

Then we looked around some other exhibit gardens and the seasonal garden, and saw where they were getting ready to have a wedding after the gardens close.

Then we went to the gift shop, and the Kid bought me my Mother's Day gift, the poster from the exhibit which I am going to hang in my hall.

Then we made our way back to the car, and came home. They dropped me off and I was so stiff and achy from all the walking (over 12,000 steps, mpre than 5 miles) that I just lay down and recovered.

At 7:00 the FWIB called. Still no luck woth his computer, he's taking it to the Apple store tomorrow.

Then I called Middle Brother, who is fine and looking forward to Memorial Day.

[personal profile] mashfanficchick called while I was talking to the FWib, so I called zer back and we made plans for our picnic tomorrow.

I got up and puttered on the computer til pet feeding time, then I fed the pets, and here I am.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The Kid.

3. The Botanical Gardens.

4. Beautiful weather.

5. Lois McMaster Bujold is working on another Penric novella, which I would in the past, been so thrilled to share with Oldest Brother, but I can't any more so I'll just post it here.

6. Middle Brother is good.
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Got up this morning at 9:00 for my Al-anon meeting. Had breakfast and coffee, then showered and dressed and headed out to my Al-anon meeting.

Made it on time. the meeting was very good, and afterward I went to the diner. Had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll, and coffee.

Came home by the bus, rode with D, he really bent my ear talking the whole time. Got home and went to the Starsky and Hutch chat.

I didn't stay til the finish though, because at 4:45 I got off to get ready to go out and meet Alex from Ship-of-fools for dinner. He was in for the weekend from Arizona, and it has been almost 20 years since we saw each other so it was nice. We ate at a small diner called Astro, and I had a Philadelphia chicken sandwich (grilled chicken with Swiss cheese, onions, and mushrooms.)

We had a nice time and he walked me to the subway, and then I came home. Got here and the FWiB, who still hasn't gotten his computer working, called me.

We talked for a bit over an hour, then I got caught up on my internet reading. and then it was pet feeding time.

Tomorrow is the day that I'm going to the Botanical Gardens with the Kid and her boyfriend for The Flowers of van Gogh.

I have a consent form I have to sign and return for Middle Brother. Going to mail that tomorrow.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The Ship.

3. My meetings and the people there.

4. Starsky and Hutch fandom.

5. Got complimented on my haircut.

6. Good day.
silver_chipmunk: (Default)
Got up at 10:00, had breakfast, and coffee. Puttered around for awhile but then showered and dressed.

I did some tasks today, took out the garbage and walked around the block, emptied the trash in the bathroom and bedroom, and tidied up a little.

Then I settled down to officially kill time before I went to my meeting. I played Bookworm for about two hours, got to level 11, which is pretty good. Finally I left a little early and took the trash out.

Then I waited for the bus. And waited. And waited. The weather, which had been bright and sunny, suddenly turned, and it POURED. The bus finally came, and of course was PACKED. Eventually I got to the Bronx, and got my pizza for dinner as usual.

The meeting was smaller than usual but quite good. The rain had stopped, but started again during the meeting, and again it was pouring when we left. The bus was a bit late, but did show up more-or-less on time.

Got home, and discovered via the sign at the bus stop, that my stop on the 50 is being eliminated in the bus reorganization the MTA has done. Looks like I'll have to get off at 31st Ave and transfer to the for two stops. Madness. So that sucks. That starts after June 29.

So I got home, and talked to the FWiB, who has still not gotten his computer working but hopes to tomorrow.

Then it was pet feeding time so I fed the pets an started here.

Tomorrow I have dinner plans with someone from Ship-of-Fools.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. My meetings and the people there.

3. Garbage out.

4. Pizza.

5. I brought my umbrella when I went out.

6. [personal profile] mashfanficchick cause it's zer birthday.

Hair cut

May. 22nd, 2025 09:58 pm

I woke up at the (for me) ungodly hour of 7:30, and got up at 8:00. I ate breakfast, had coffee, showered and dressed, and headed off (in the rain) to my hair appointment.

It went very well. They washed my hair, cut it, washed it again, and then dried it. I had cut it a little above the shoulders, in layers so it's curly, and easy to take care of.

After I finished, I came back, and took a nap. I meant to only sleep a couple of hours, but ended up going longer than that.

After I woke up I didn't do much during the day, just puttered around. At 7:00 I called the FWiB, who still has not resolved his computer issues. Then at 8L30 I called Middle Brother, he's fine, nothing new. Looking forward to Memorial Day.

Tomorrow was supposed to be when I was going to the Botanical Gardens with the Kid for belated Mother's Day, but she pointed out the weather was going to be awful, and switched it to Sunday instead. So I won't miss my meeting tomorrow.

And that's about all.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. New hair cut.

3. Naps.

4. My cat.

5. Middle Brother is good.

6. Inside warm and dry.

Got up and showered and had coffee at [personal profile] mashfanficchick's. Then we Ubered over here, arriving in time for my Shipt order to get here.

I brought Oldest Brother's ashes back and put the box on my printer (pretty much the only free flat surface I have) with the two photos we printed out for the service. Not great but will do until I can get them taken care of at the cottage this summer.

I needed to get my laundry from the laundromat, and so we did that, then we took out my recycling. The kitchen looks much better.

We tried again with the new tools to get the tip off the spigot to attach the python to clean the turtle tank. Again we failed. This is very frustrating.

We ordered a meal from Chipotle, and after we ate, spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out. We charged our phones and I charged my fitbit and then we went into Astoria to Omnia to meet a fellow Starsky and Hutch fan who also happens to be a Bard graduate.

That was a lot of fun and we hung out and talked until quite late. Then I came home and Phoned the FWiB.

And now I have to get to bed because my hair appointment tomorrow is for 10:00!

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The ashes are here and safe.

3. Clean laundry.

4. Recycling out.

5. Fun time with friends.

6. Bed soon.
