The scans and the rest of the day
Jul. 17th, 2021 12:04 amSo I got up and showered and dressed. no food or coffee of course. And
mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up and dropped me at the place, and I had my scans.
They shuffled things around so it took less time than I expected. I got the injection of radioactive dye for the bone scan first and while that was diffusing through my body I drank the two bottles of barium stuff for the CAT scan. Then I sat and waited for a long time, but then they did the CAT scan instead of after the bone scan like was originally scheduled. The CAT scan was very fast, and not uncomfortable at all.
Then I waited for about a half an hour and then had the bone scan. That was a bit harder, took about 45 minutes and meant holding still while the scanner worked. Still nowhere near as uncomfortable as the breast MRI was.
After that they gave me some snacks and let me go. I called
mashfanficchick and had them pick me up, and we went to Panera where I got a flatbread pizza and iced coffee and then hibiscus iced tea. Then we went trying to get
mashfanficchick a new phone, going to the Verizon store, and to Queens Center Mall to the Apple store. We were unsuccessful, for various reasons.
So then we went and picked up Dori and took her to the bank. And then we went out to dinner at Friday's. That was fun, and we went to Dunckin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins for dessert after.
Finally they brought me home and I Skyped the FWiB for a short while before I started writing in here.
Along the way I called Oldest Brother and texted with the Kid.
Bed now.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Got through the scans OK.
3. Good food.
4. Yummy ice cream hot fudge sundae.
5. Friends.
