Into Westchester
Nov. 13th, 2024 10:19 pmGot up at the unearthly hour of 6 in order to go with Chris to his cataract surgery. Had breakfast and coffee, showered, dressed, made it out by 6:55.
Made it to Grand Central by 7:40, and met up with Chris. We took Metro North to Mamaroneck and a bus from the station to the medical building.
It wasn't too long a wait before they took him in, and then a little over an hour before he was done. He was a little bit woozy, but not bad, and we made our way back to Grand Central via the bus and Metro North easily enough.
Then Chris got us lunch at the Oyster Bar! Very expensive to my mind, but he paid. We didn't get the raw bar, which I regret, but I got the fried Ipswich clams, which were very good, and a slice of key lime pie for dessert which was delicious.
By then I figured he was recovered enough I could let him go to his apartment himself, and I came home as normal, the 7train to Flushing and then the bus.
When I got here two packages were waiting for me, two of the Silver John books, and oddly enough, a book I didn't order. I don't know if I should try and get in touch with the seller about it or not. I opened the packages and the mail, then immediately went and took an hour and a half nap.
The Kid woke me up texting. So at 6 I got up and made a cup of decaf, and puttered on the computer til 7 when I Skyped the FWiB.
We talked til 8 when I went to my D&D game. We are having the great race now, we only got two rounds into it, we'll see how far we get next week. But it was fun.
After that I fed the pets, and texted
mashfanficchick about tomorrow. Ze called me back and we made plans.
