Oldest Brother again
Nov. 23rd, 2024 10:17 pmStarted out the day by oversleeping a bit. Rushed to make my Al-anon meeting on time by bus. I would have made it I think but I made a miss-turn in walking to the church from the bus stop, and had to walk back a block and start over. Then I walked right past the church and again had to walk back. I'll learn it after a few more weeks.
Anyway, the meeting had only just begun. It was very good, the new space is great. Afterward I got a ride to the diner and had a loaded breakfast wrap and iced coffee.
Then I Ubered to the hospital to see Oldest Brother. Again they tried to take him off the ventilator this morning but again failed. However the RN was there and he told me that in general, he is getting better. He just needs more time.

mashfanficchick to see if ze wanted me over today. Ze was sleeping though, and planning on seeing zer mother in the rehab later, so I didn't. I took the 65 bus to Flushing and then the 44 home.
Then I got in on the last couple of hours of the Starsky and Hutch chat. That was a lot of fun. Ended a little after 6, and I killed time til I Skyped the FWiB.
We talked for about an hour and a half, had a very good time. After that I killed time til the Kid and I texted about tomorrow. She is picking me up at 11 and we are going to the Bronx Botanical Gardens for the Holiday Train Show. I spent a little time after that picking out clothes to wear,
I also am giving consideration to the question of if I need a new mattress. My mattress is now about 10 years old and I wake up every day stiff and achy. Also, there's a dip in it where I sleep, which can't be good. So I'm thinking about a new one. The major issue is getting the old one out. I'm not sure that even the companies that deliver remove the old one. I'll have to investigate.
Anyway, that all took me to pet feeding time. I used up the old turtle food yesterday so today I opened the new box from Petco and started the new can. I really need to clean her tank though.
