I got up somewhat after 8:30 and had breakfast and coffee, then showered and dressed. It took me longer than I expected so I got off late though.

Took the 44 bus to the 7 train and then that to Grand Central to the 6. Got off at 77th street, and walked to where Chris was having his eye surgery. I got there only about 10 minutes late for the 10:45 time, and he was still in the waiting room.

They sent me up to another waiting room on the 5th floor, and I waited. Spent the time playing on my phone. After quite a long time he texted me that they were taking him in finally, and I continued playing on my phone.

Eventually they called me that he was done and would be coming out soon, and i could come down stairs again, so I did, and waited awhile longer til he was sent out. It was after 1 by then.

We carefully walked a few blocks on Lexington to a restaurant called Orsay, which Chris was familiar with, and we had lunch there. It's French, and very good. I had the croque monsieur, and a chocolate mousse for dessert and it was marvelous. The croque monsieur came with a fried egg on it, and it was really quite brunchy although billed as lunch.

Chris had two bags of beads which had been Barbara's when she was in the bead business. He has said the Kid can have as many ofthem as she wants, so I took the two bags, heavy but not too bad.

We had a nice time talking but finally we finished. Then he took a cab back home and I retraced my steps on the subway.

Got to Flushing and went to Duane Reade to pick up my meds. That was a frustrating experience. The escalators and the elevator were all out of order, the only way to get to the second floor where the pharmacy is was by climbing the out of order escalator. Then wait on the pharmacy line. Then I found they had only filled on prescription, not both, so I had to have them fill the second one. Fortunately it didn't take long.

Then finally I took the 44 bus home. I texted the Kid about the beads, she hasn't replyed yet though, which makes me nervous and sad.

I puttered online from then (after 5 by that time) til 7 when I Skyped the FWiB. We talked til a little after 8:30, taking a break for me to call Middle Brother. he's fine, nothing new. I am wondering when he's going to have his cataract operation.

After we got off, I called [personal profile] mashfanficchick but ze still doesn't know what's going on tomorrow, so I have no firm plans.

I had some cheese and crackers, and a cup of decaf, then went to the bedroom, and fiddled with my phone some more. Finally at 10 it was pet feeding time, and here I am.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Chris's surgery went well.

3. Lovely lunch.

4. Got my scrips filled.

5. Middle Brother is well.

6. My phone!
