Lunch with Mandy after all

mashfanficchick asked me to go over to zer apartment today and lock up for Mandy, who doesn't have keys, and then have Mandy take me out for lunch on zer.
So this morning I got up and had breakfast and coffee, and texted Mandy to find out what time she was leaving. She said 1:30, so I hurried through a shower, and dressed, and headed over.
I took the bus and got there almost exactly at 1:30. I got my umbrella, which I had left there accidentally Saturday, and we locked up and went to lunch at the Georgia diner.
I had the Belgian waffle with apples, coffee ice cream, and whipped cream. We had a very nice time talking, and then we left for her to drop me off at my place.
Surprise! There is serious road work going on on 35th ave, and her GPS didn't realize it. We kept going around in circles until finally we shut off the GPS and I guided us.
So I got home, and I hope Mandy didn't have too much trouble navigating her way out of the neighborhood.
Anyway, I spent the rest of the day puttering online. And I started the second Jo Walton book, The King's Name.
I got a robocall from the company that's supposed to get my CPAP. It was an AI that was supposed to make an appointment for me. The call dropped. It didn't call back. If it doesn't by Thursday I'll call the company. But I was annoyed at them using AI for something that should have a human intelligence.
At 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB. I was annoyed with him because he hadn't emailed me during the day, but I calmed down.
Just as we were getting ready to say goodbye,mashfanficchick called to see how things had gone today. I had to get off fast though to get to my meeting.
The meeting was very small, just me and M. I did what I could for her, I don't think I've said here, M from Tuesday has dementia, but still gets enjoyment from coming to the meetings. But it's heartbreaking. I've known her for 30 years and to see her decline is awful. Dementia is evil. My Father died of Alzheimer's and it is evil.
Anyway after the meeting I had a snack for dinner, and went to my bedroom to scroll Facebook until pet feeding time. I fed the pets and started here.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB, even when he irritates me.
2. Got to say goodbye to Mandy.
3. Beautiful weather for a change.
4. My meetings and the people there.
5. Lovely waffle and everything.
6. Good books.
